> Chris Johnson was hired to do an addition to my ski house in Killington, VT. It was a 16x22 foot great  room and a totally new kitchen and mud room. He was very helpful in putting my ideas into a much better plan than I had in mind and I am very grateful for his design ideas (he is not a design/build contractor). I drew up my plans and my architect put them in professional form. But Chris even had better ideas and found flaws in the architect's plans. He started Oct. 1, 2011 and finished on time the end of March 2012. The winter work left us, a ski family of 8, with temporary everything and he promised to clean up every Friday before we arrived and put as much furniture back into the unfinished space so we could cook, eat, etc. over the weekend. I chose and bought most of the tiles, utilities etc. myself and he installed them. I also added work along the way, 2 bathroom remodels, new patio door etc. and he still finished on time.  Every day he arrived precisely at 8AM and finished at 4, after cleaning up the day's work. He was easy to work with and I made scheduled payments.
> The budget was met, although I added a lot on as we went. The best thing about Chris Johnson was that he was an excellent carpenter and very fussy about the quality of his work! He worked with the crew every day and did one job at a time. I had is total attention.

> Chris Johnson contracting did several projects on my house other contractors said could not be done efficiently without spending a lot more money. He saw solutions to problems and fixed them in an affordable and timely manner. I have experience with many carpenters and contractors. Chris Johnson contracting was so fast compared to others in the area without sacrificing quality. He was hands on and always on the job site. He was fairly priced and very clear and present with communication. I even received pictures of the project emailed to me while I was away. I would hire him in a heartbeat. He is well spoken and presents himself professionally. He doesn't waste time standing around and he calls you back.....a rarity in Vermont trades.
