> We started working with Hilton Builders several months ago.  Having had a terrible experience with another local company, we were very cautious.  It turns out that all the worrying was completely unnecessary with Hilton.  My husband and I are amazed at the transparency of their bids, honesty, reliability, quality of work, and thoroughness.  They have an "open book" system in which they have a different bank account for each customer, they allow us to see all bids so we can change the scope of the project and know impact, and allow us to receive copies of all bank statements to reconcile with invoices paid. This provides easy accounting for taxes, proof of payments to subs (no mechanics liens) and we know Hilton's profit to the penny.  They are true partners both in their integrity and their quality of work.  They have also sat with my husband and me to "value engineer: the project to make sure money is spent where it brings value, and we can save in other areas that are optional.  The crew has shown up every single day at 7 am on the dot,  They are cheerful, polite, clean up and lock up every night.    I can honestly say they have exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend them to everyone.

## Community Q&A

**Q: I'm choosing doorknobs for the whole house.** *(in Polls)*

Kitchen , Master and living room upstairs:

Upstairs doorknobs will be satin nickel as are kitchen hardware  and any other finishes including chandelier . Upstairs has red oak floors ,whole house painted white. 1470 sq feet.

GuestBedroom , office and bathroom downstairs:

Downstairs has dark hardwood floors( not able to change) and oil rubbed bronze doorknob. It's a beach house with blues ,grey, and white color scheme. I'll have capiz shell switch plates. I don't want to change my front door handle and I do like to look of the contrast between  bronze with the white.The bronze ties in with the hardwood. Contemplating bronze entryway chandelier and bronze door knobs . It will be different from the upstairs but its already different because of the flooring colors. My hesitation with the bronze is that I prefer satin nickel but other than the bathroom fixtures ( which are already satin nickel) there won't be anything else metal to compete with it. 

I like a house to blend and flow so the focus is on the artwork and rugs , not on minor details.

So my question is , oil rubbed bronze or satin nickel doorknobs downstairs?

A: You can absolutely mix if you want to.
