Work was exceptional and on budget. I have a direct buy account and had planned on using them for my kitchen cabinetry. Direct buy quoted a price for cabinetry that was basically out of the box cabinets that had very little customization. I then went to P&M who customized all my cabinets and was cheaper than Direct Buys cabinets. P&M's craftsman ship is phenomenal. They created cabinets with various slide outs and instead of having to adjust my remodel based on cabinets out of the box, it worked exactly the opposite. The cabinets were made to my specs rather me having to adjust to standard out of the box cabinets. Needless to say I went directly to P&M for my bathroom remodel. They over saw all aspects of my remodel. They made sure everything from flooring, counter tops, installation of appliance, faucets, etc were "perfect". Who makes it?** *(in Photo Questions)* This hood looks good in this transitional kitchen. Where is the hood from? A: I believe it's a Whirlpool, from Fergusons. Thanks for the compliment! **Q: Afraid I'm creating a design mess in my kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)* I am afraid that I am making a mess of my new kitchen. We love our new starmark Ivory cabinets with chocolate glaze. We have Lakeshore Southern pecan laminate flooring. We just had snowfall Granite installed today we think it's gorgeous but we are not used to it... maybe it's fancier than we are used to. We had chosen a Cafe Brown silgranite sink even though other people had other opinions. It is the one we like the best but I can see how other ones might have been better matched to the granite....but we have a bronze faucet and bronze cabinet hardware which we love and the sink seemed to tie in nicely... ....I love our choices individually, but I'm afraid by the time I do backsplash and paint color I will mess things up ......any input is appreciated and if there's something you don't like I don't mind your critique. I realize all that matters is that we love it however we do want it to be aesthetically pleasing to others. I am doing burlap and lace valances ....also the granite has what they call fissures ..just a few but I didn't really notice on the slab before it was cut ...they smoothed it out but I just wanted to know if that was common with granite They said it was common and they are not cracks but just a very surface thing that was there when i chose the slab.... thank you in advance for any input or opinions you have on my kitchen A: We just did a kitchen with basically the same granite tops. We used a ceramic tile that looks a bit like white marble, Marrazi Calacatta. Has a bit of a grey/beige fleck in a white background and it comes in a couple of formats. Small subway, large subway, herringbone and a wave pattern. It's not shiny, and the marble pattern is really subtle. It does not compete with the granite at all. Looks great. **Q: Help designing possible new kitchen!** *(in Design Dilemma)* I'm looking to find possible designs for renovating my kitchen but stumped on ideas.. As seen below in the picture, the current layout for this wing of the house is the kitchen on the right, an office in the middle, and the master bedroom on the left at the end of the hall. Across the hall from the kitchen is the entrance to the garage. Sooooo.. Our plan is to tear down the wall between the office and the kitchen to expand the space but having trouble coming up with a design layout that will be functional and attractive. Priorities are counter space and comfortable dining area for ideally 6 but open to any ideas without as well! All feedback is greatly appreciated! A: Need more information. Was there a kitchen here before? Are you on slab? On a crawlspace, i.e., how easy to move water lines and drains? How is the stove to be vented? Do you want the sink under a window? How big is your family? Are there 6 for every meal or only when company comes? Do you want a couple of seats at an Island as well? Do you want to make room for a table, or built-in banquet? What is your budget? How big are the rooms? Where is your living room? Where is your dining room? Is there a formal dining room, or is this it? It's kind of an odd floor plan, what else is going on with the rest of the house? Can you also move any windows? What are the heights of the windows? Is there room to put countertop under them? Do you want a pantry closet or is food storage in cabinets sufficient? About a million things to figure out. You may want to talk to whomever will be building or installing your cabinets. They can usually visit and help you work out an ergonomic plan that meets your budget. **Q: I'd like to know the paint colors used on red cabinets, blue cabinet and walls. I have an old house, built in 1936 and am still using the original kitchen. There isn't money to upgrade to a new modern kitchen; so I thought I could do a lipstick job on it and possibly paint everything these colors with this same look.
