After a few initial getting to know you hiccups at the start of the project, Kris's team did fantastic work renovating my 1BR apartment in a cooperative building. His team worked professionally within the rules of the building, minimized any disruption to my neighbors and was responsive to my design ideas, whether or not they were included at the very beginning of the project or as change orders that took place mid-stream. In a world where it's hard to know whether you can trust any given contractor or rely on the quality of the work, Kris earns an A+ for trust, quality and professionalism. I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again. An example of Kris's commitment to quality: immediately after installation, the grout used in the tile floor of my shower would discolor after the shower dried after each use. The white discoloration wouldn't scrub away and it made the shower floor look terrible. Kris had his guy come back twice to fix the condition - the second intervention solved the problem and the shower tile floor looks great after each use. I would guess other contractors would have given me a hard time for requesting they return to fix something like this. > > As with any contractor relationship, make sure you outline in as detailed and clear a fashion what it is that you want in your project so that you can minimize costly change orders and time wasted. While it seems many friends have had problems with contractors who have been dishonest or done shoddy work, I never had such concerns with Kris.
