What is the name of the arch? Is this a cherry stain? A: I don't think this is one of our kitchens! However, the upper cabinets are a cathedral arch, and the lower cabinets are square, raised panel, cherry, either KraftMaid or Waypoint. Hope this helps! Chrysteen **Q: Need professional window help** *(in Design Dilemma)* This wall of windows has been overwhelming and we are clearly stumped. This is our gray family room that currently has waaay too much light most of the day. We explored curtains in many colors and agreed on PB ivory because they are warmer than the white. Now that they are up, I can't help but feel like they look like bed sheets. We have had professionals here and the drapery they recommend is too pricey. Shades are not the best option because we don't have enough depth for inside mounts. The wall of windows are 108" high. Please share your thoughts. A: We would suggest Hunter Douglas blinds/shades. They are great for energy efficient (especially since it is really open, you want to keep the heat or the cold out), green, Child Safe, Lifetime Guarantee etc... It can be a little overwhelming when picking something out, but we highly suggest adding some top/bottom honeycomb shades where you can keep your small top window open (can be closed too) and the bottom ones mostly closed. :) **Q: help! In need of new kitchen paint!** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hello! I would love some paint suggestions for my kitchen walls. I redid my kitchen about two years ago and although I am happy with my cabinets, backsplash and floors, I am very unhappy with the color on the walls, which are a pale yellow. After thinking about it, I am torn between painting the walls green (i.e. Farrow & Ball, "Ball Green") OR something close to the color of the cabinets? I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance! A: We would say a color that'll compliment well with your wood floor? We can see a dark grey or taupe color. Definitely darker than your cabinets for a nice contrast. Although, with the color palette of your entire kitchen, any colors that have a different value would look nice. We would stay away from beige, cream or eggshell. **Q: Need flooring ideas for lake cabin with cedar walls and ceiling** *(in Design Dilemma)* Any ideas as to what type of flooring we should install in this darling little lakeside cabin? The interior walls and ceiling are covered in stained cedar planking and beams, and we do not intend to paint over the wood in an effort to keep the rustic feel. Cabinetry in the kitchen will be creamy white, as will sofas, rugs, linens, etc. A: Darling cabin. We just bought one and didn't change a thing. I'm attaching a photo of the painted kitchen floor, and some of our bleached white oak flooring that had been sanded and refinished. I'd stick with narrow oak which is very true to the style. see if you can find someone who will slightly bevel the edges to give an older look. There's also a shot of our master bathroom with white painted pine floor. Do remember though, knots show through naturally with any paint.
