> Paul Maue proved to be a gifted architect, professional and knowledgeable, well experienced, sensitive to our needs and to the land and conditions at our home, a pleasure to work with, prompt and responsive, hands on (literally, in terms of placing the plants, lighting, and carving out beds and lawns, especially when the installing landscapers were at the house) and the frosting on the cake, appropriate and fair with his billing. We only wish we could find that same combination in an architect/designer for our interior renovation projects!

> Paul Maue Associates provided comprehensive landscape architectural services for our new house, Paul worked closely with our building architect, ensuring a cohesive, integrated solution. He helped identify a great landscaping company, and assured consistency between architectural plans and actual implementation. The outcome is something that I and my family will appreciate and enjoy for many years to come. I can unequivocally recommend Paul!

> We have nothing but praise for Paul Maue and Associates. Our small yard had been reduced to dirt and rubble after an extensive addition/renovation to our house. Paul's design was a perfect fit for our house, family and neighborhood. We found his ideas and solutions to be logical, efficient and livable, yet interesting and beautiful aesthetically.
>
> After enjoying the house renovation process quite a bit, my wife and I found working with Paul and his recommended contractors to be equally, if not more enjoyable than the hammer and nails portion of the project.
>
> Paul is responsive to both input and ideas as well as emails and communication in general. We found his schedules to be accurate and work was completed in a timely manner.
>
> We highly recommend Paul Maue and Associates.

> Paul was great to work with! He was very mindful of what was already existing in our yard when we incorporated some new landscaping and a beautiful new patio into our property. We gave him our budget and he was able to work within it. Two thumbs up!

> Terrific to work with, listened to all my ideas and concerns and came up with a wonderful progressive plan to work from. His knowledge and expertise was impressive. The end results will be appreciated for years to come!

> My hilltop home needed a new front walk because the original slate steps were uneven and continually sinking. Paul designed an extraordinary front walk, building it into the hillside so it fit so naturally that it looks as if it has always been there. It is elegant and welcoming while also being strong and very functional -- and maintenance free! he worked closely with the stone mason who built the steps and then created plantings that suited our style and home. We are very pleased with his work and recommend Paul without reservation.

> Paul Maue Associates provided 2 designs for our family, including our beach house in Cotuit, MA, on Cape Cod. We couldn't be happier with the designs and the outcome of our outdoor living space.

**★★★★★ — Royal Barry Wills Associates, March 2013**

> A professional approach to the solution of the requirements of the client. Very sensitive to the existing condition of the site.
> The treatment and enhancement of the site was very complimentary to the architecture.

> Paul Maue has served as our landscape architect for the past 11 years. Originally he worked with us during the construction of our new home, a project which took several years to complete. In this role he was responsible for the design of all the landscape and hardscape features on the property. Because Paul did such a wonderful job, we have continued to consult him on an "as needed" basis. Most recently we enlisted his help with the planting of 26 large pines at the back of our property, having lost many large and small trees in that area over the past few years. Paul advised us which trees would provide the best screening, sited the trees, selected the trees at nursery (these were 25' - 30' trees at our request), and arranged for the shipment and planting of them. He then followed up to make sure everything was done correctly. Paul has established relationships with nurseries along the eastern seaboard that ensure he can obtain the finest and healthiest trees available. He is also conscious of budget and will work to find appropriately priced trees for the purpose. For example, in the case of the pines we planted for screening purposes, we were not interested in the highest quality pines, since they were located far from the house. "Park quality trees" were less expensive and perfectly fine for our application. Paul's knowledge of native plants and trees is extensive, and he is extremely thoughtful when designating plants that will thrive and complement a landscape. Paul has a special affinity for historical gardens and European garden design. He has also helped us find other professionals to help with our landscaping needs, such as a landscape lighting company, gardeners to work with the perennial gardens, and professionals to provide plant care. He has been a great resource over the years.
>
> The date of our project (cited below) refers to the month the trees were actually planted. The project started several months before to allow for the installation of a fence, necessary site work, and the appropriate conditions for planting.
>
> The cost of the project refers to Paul's professional fees for the services he provided. The actual plant material and the planting of the trees cost considerably more.

> Paul was referred to us by our architect during the process of planning and building our house. Our site had many challenges including wet lands setbacks, deed restrictions and grading issues. As a result of Paul's plan our house sits very naturally on our property. His choice of plantings and trees blend very well with and complement the the surrounding environment. The landscape has become more beautiful as it has matured and we have had many many complements about it. The plantings are hearty and pest resistant. There is relatively minimal maintenance. The initial installation was over ten years ago. We continue to seek Paul's advice from time to time and we are still using the landscape company that he recommended at the beginning of the project. Paul is passionate about his work and very talented. He is professional, organized, reliable and a pleasure to know and work with. We recommend him very very highly.

> We built a new house and needed a landscape plan but had alot of ideas about what kind of look we were trying to accomplish, and what kind of plant material we did and didn't like. Paul took a lot of time to listen and work with us and our ideas. He took our ideas and desires into account and came up with a plan that was much more wonderful than we had even dreamed. He talked to us about what kind of plant materials he had chosen for different locations and why. During installation he was available for consultation and had great suggestions for alternative plant selections when we couldn't find some of the native plant material that we wanted. Throughout the process he shared his knowledge and expertise in a professional and helpful way, he was accessible and flexible. He has a great artistic eye and helped us to "see" and achieve a design that fits our setting, provided structure and has delighted us for years.

> We had the pleasure of working with Paul last Fall on a landscape renovation-and what a pleasure it was! Paul is the consummate professional: always timely, most knowledgeable about his craft, creative, patient, and polite throughout the process. He truly made a daunting task thoroughly enjoyable for my husband and me! It is clear that he takes great pride in and enjoys his work-- his knowledge and commitment were evident throughout the process. And we are thrilled with the outcome!

  - Description: This former ranch now provides all the living space needs both inside and out. The garage alignment required a large circulation space adjacent to the front of the house. To soften this, a narrow garden set behind a stone wall attracts views from these windows and gives a seasonal change to this architectural elevation. The swimming pool is simple and set within a lawn surround. The perimeter fence is almost invisible where lawn sweeps down a slope to the woodland edge below. Perched above this…
