> Barbara literally designed my home from top to bottom. Every conversation we had turned into a beautiful design idea. Barbara took pieces that meant something to me like my travel mementos and items I inherited from my Mother and incorporated them into the rooms and my home.
>
> The Waterford Chandelier in the entry way and paintings in the entry way set the time I wanted for making people welcome when visiting.
>
> Barbara also designed my work condo which sold at a premium, everything was intentional and thought out to pieces I could bring back and incorporate into my home and saved me money. Barbara was always very open on we don’t need to spend money here and do need those pieces. There were no surprises as everything was priced and discussed before we moved forward.
>
> I couldn’t be more pleased with Barbara and Lee Meier I would highly recommend them.

> Decisions can sometimes be hard for me, especially when it comes to design. The whole process can be overwhelming and stressful. Barbara makes it relaxing and fun. She has designed two of our homes so far and also renovated an office located in a home from the 1800s. It’s updated but still timeless and classic. She puts in the extra effort to make us happy, like when she designed a centerpiece of flowering plants for our dining room table. Barbara is so organized, always on time, and pays attention to every detail. She’s got an artist’s heart and a business mind.

> I first worked with Lee Meier 24 years ago when I built my house and recently engaged Barbara for a major refresh. Green is my favorite color and she found unique ways to incorporate different shades throughout my home. I loved the original kitchen wallpaper and the workers were able to demolish that room and keep the paper intact. She finds the most unique furniture, like my black lacquer desk with dragonflies and butterflies. For the furniture with ‘good bones,’ she had them reupholstered. Barbara has the utmost integrity. She’s perky, thoughtful, and a great listener. It’s a joy to work with her and her whole team.

> We live in Florida and hired Natalie to completely refurnish our penthouse condominium in Cleveland. With a tight deadline of three months, Natalie did a great job selecting coastal colors, furniture, fabrics, and lighting. Even with all the floor-to-ceiling windows and steel accents, which can make a space seem cold, it still feels warm and welcoming. The stunning focal point is a scattering of turquoise stones along the staircase wall. We’ve built five homes over our lifetime and know how stressful the design process can be. Natalie listens so well and never gets frazzled, even with impossible deadlines. She captured exactly what we wanted.

> When we moved from an 1,100-square-foot apartment in NYC to a 4,000-square-foot house in Lakewood eighteen years ago, we knew we needed help furnishing it. Luckily, we turned to Lee Meier and their wonderful team of designers. Over the many renovations and updates since, Paul has always been a great listener and incredibly skilled at respectfully drawing out our vision—not imposing his vision on us. He has helped us with so many of the big things and the little touches that make our house our home. Some of my favorites are the black tooled-leather semainier he found to fit an odd space in our dressing room, the perfect color palette he chose for a seamless guest suite renovation, and just the right, subtle alternative to cover the unwanted dark green and burgundy border in the kitchen. He and Natalie continue to help us as we are currently refreshing the kitchen, and also making plans to remodel the master bathroom. They are both so honest, kind, and authentic. What could be a daunting experience is like play to me and I look forward to working with them on every project!

> When we planned to move into a brand-new house and were expecting twins, I knew I needed help designing and furnishing it. Natalie was the perfect choice. She is extremely personable and cheery and very responsive. She stayed on top of all the manufacturers to ensure delivery was as prompt as possible. From furniture and light fixtures to wallpaper and window treatments, she transformed just about every room. Our master bedroom, with the custom-upholstered bed, is a sanctuary of peace. Natalie brought our vision to life.

> Kiley McAllister redesigned my kitchen and living room several years ago, and I've been very happy with it. She worked with my budget, which wasn't very large, and helped me focus on where to splurge a little and where to hold back. For instance, I couldn't afford granite countertops, but she found amazing tiles with an arabesque shape that echoed my favorite lamp. I couldn't afford a particular window treatment, and she problem-solved a way to do something very similar for much less.

> Barbara is pure magic! She turned our house into a home. She started with window treatments for our foyer five years ago and has since transformed just about every room in our home, including our two daughters’ bedrooms. She made them feel so special by genuinely treating them like her clients. We call our den ‘The Great Barbara Room’ because it’s jaw-droppingly beautiful and warm and welcoming. She’s so dynamic and always makes me feel uplifted and excited. Whenever we need to renovate or refresh our home, we just call Barbara. If you’re considering working with Barbara, your only regret will be that you didn’t do it earlier.

> As soon as I started working with Barbara more than ten years ago, I knew we were kindred spirits. She is so intuitive when it comes to knowing what pleases me. She treats me like I’m her only client. After renovating our primary home, she did our entire Florida home, mostly remotely, and it’s magnificent. When I have a design idea for either of our homes, my husband asks me, ‘What does Barbara think?’ and I know we’re about to start our next adventure. Working with contractors can often be a nightmare. My experience is always a dream because Barbara only works with the best. I love Barbara and everyone I recommend her to loves her, too!

> Natalie Rich helped us with the daunting task of decorating our new build. She helped pick out window treatments for all of the rooms and arranged for their installation, and helped pick out almost all new furniture for most of the rooms. She brought our vision for a clean, modern look to life and we would highly recommend her to anyone!

**★★★★★ — HU-282125137, Oct. 2019**

> Natalie Rich picked 4 color and pattern designs for our family room. After we chose a color scheme, Natalie helped us pick out furniture, window treatments, paint and carpeting. She listened to our ideas and worked hard to design a beautiful new room within our budget.
> We also appreciated her assistance with installation of the window treatments and furniture placement.
> Natalie responded every time we had a concern or questions. We would highly recommend Natalie.

Opening up key walls, whitewashing the ceiling and painting the beams brightened the space and opened up the waterfront views.. My client wanted to aim for a room that can turn into a guest room or grow with their baby throughout the years. We added built ins for additional storage. Moving the dining table to the back wall rather then the center of the room allowed the opportunity to add a long beautiful banquette with flanking bookcases. ## Community Q&A

**Q: Need Advice on Exterior Color, Roof & Curb Appeal** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello, I live in a Dutch Colonial, and we about to get a new roof and paint. We are also replacing all windows that will have white hardware. The previous owners were really into brown... inside and out. I swear to dog it is 50 Shades of Brown up in here, which I have been slowly eradicating. We are shaded by giant oak trees. I don't really want to paint the brick, just the wood on the dormers and on the garage above garage (see photos). I am also going to replace the front door. Anybody have any great ideas? Would like to keep it on the traditional side. Thanks !!! Please excuse the purple cobwebs on the house, kid next door took some liberties.

A: I don't know, but I think your house is quite charming the way it is already. I like that the windows aren't brash white but blend with painted wood of your home. I do love the navy shutters. I think if you just went lighter on the roof, the heaviness you feel may disappear.

**Q: Wall above tv** *(in Design Dilemma)*

What is best to put over a tv?

Frames, shelves, nothing ?

A: I love adding some art around the TV whether it be actual framed art or even cool empty frames. It helps to camouflage the black box and makes your wall more interesting.

**Q: Painting** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are painting virtually every surface of our home. Is it common practice to paint the trim, doors, and ceilings all the same color? We will be doing white for those areas. How do I pick a white? There are a million whites. White Dove by BM seems to be very popular for this.

A: White Dove by Benjamin Moore is definitely the way to go with trim. I wouldn't use any other white. It's gorgeous.

**Q: Fill in the wall idea? Need bookshelves** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have this piece the TV is on and I really love it, however it is too small for this walll. I would like to keep it but wondering if anyone has any bookshelf ideas to go on each side that would go with the dark brown? excuse the mess beside it, we are redoing the floors and kitchen. We would mount the TV once everything is complete in house.

A: It's too bad you can't use it as a sideboard or as a sofa table

**Q: 50 shades of grey!! Need help w Basement color** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Finally both kids can go down the basement unassisted, our newest project is moving all their toys down there and get our living room back lol. Our basement with no natural light about 600 sq feet, just put in a lot of LED recessed lighting and need to pick a color to go with the not so pretty carpet which we will eventually replace with a lighter color one after kids get older. This space will mostly use as a play room.
My question is
1\. I am looking at SW versatile grey, but wasn't too sure if it's going to be a shade too dark for basement. Any other color suggestions? What color will go with that blue color carpet(it's more blue in person)? We do like to make it warmer color in the basement, so any blue wall is out
2\. Do you think we can do a accent wall, with the space so chop up with all the vent and duck? really like the one in last pic. The 3rd pics is the accent wall color I am thinking with the versatile grey in the middle. But again, will a darker accent wall might get the basement a dark feel?
3\. Which wall should be accent wall of I do pick one? The whole wall one the tv side with white bookcase, the wall right after the stairs only? Or the wall between 2 white bookcase?
the painter is coming Monday, so I have 2 days. With the power of houzzer- hope I can do it lol.
Thanks for your help in advance and all suggestions are welcome:)

A: Just did a large basement in a 4000sq foot home - nothing but recessed lights and some lamps. We chose a Benjamin Moore color: Tyler Gray CW-50. Looks great, doesn't look flat, perfect color."The stone shade referenced in 18th century British paint and builders manuals is the color inspiration behind this softer mid-tone gray." ~ Benjamin Moore website.

**Q: Table** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Had a rustic walnut table and chairs painted a light gray to match walls and bench/chairs blue to match island per advice of a professional but not liking it in the space. Any suggestions ???

A: I like your one photo with wood top table and the rest white. Keep fabric on chairs to marry the two areas together. I don't necessarily think you need the white distressing to look coastal.
