Being born in the City of Madrid gave me an appreciation of the harmony and balance that good design brings - this is often so evident in both the buildings and the interiors of my native country.

It was a natural progression to apply my background to working with interior design here in the United States, and found that my talents in this area allowed me to serve my clients in several different ways that bring value and taste to their homes or real estate projects in the Puget Sound area. This evolved to include staging homes to increase profit and decrease the time of the selling cycle for their owners.

Although no longer involved in the staging business because of the arduous nature of moving furniture around the area and because it decreased the amount of time available to work on other creative projects, this work drew the attention of home owners and builders who asked me to work on their homes after seeing homes I had staged and the benefits that resulted, both in terms of appearance and time-to-sell. From this has evolved the transition to full-time interior/exterior design and project management.

> I hired Pilar to help me with my newly remodeled home.  I needed to upgrade furniture, arrange what I had and figure out what was missing. We focused on my son's bedroom and playroom, and my living room.  But, she helped with other parts as well. I was looking for someone that could help guide me, recognizing the styles that I like and make it all flow together, and not break the bank.  Pilar has exceeded my expectations on all fronts. She really listens well, and took the time to understand what I needed.  She moved pieces away that we agreed weren't working, recommended new pieces, and pulled together a great look.  Pilar has an interesting way of working.  She absorbs a lot of information, takes pictures, and then puts together collages and pictures of how she sees it.   Based on my feedback, she tweaked and made other suggestions until it felt right.  She has a very good eye, and an amazing sense of color and space.   Everything she recommended gets compliments.  She wanted to add an arching lamp to balance a room, and a tall studded headboard to a bedroom that helped finish off a room.  Things I didn't know I needed or liked fit so nicely.   She will send suggestions from all sorts of websites and stores.  Places I never heard of before, but she identifies cool pieces.  I got/she found items from West Elm, Room and Board, Dot and Bo, Wayfair, Kasala, Design within Reach, Thomasville, Dania, One Kings Lane, Bed Bath and Beyond, Tuesday Morning, and not to forget, Craigslist.   Another thing is that Pilar will come by with some pillows or objects she finds along the way to see how they work.  If they do, great, if not, no problem.  In terms of cost, she is extremely effective and efficient, and I got tremendous value from her.    Money well spent.  I selected Pilar because I liked that she flexed her style, and got great references on this site.   I'm so pleased with how she's helped me with my home.

> We finally finished construction on our daylight basement (bar, bdrm, bath, exercise rm) and decided to hire a professional to help furnish/decorate and to update the rest of the house on a short/long term plan.  I researched Interior Designers on Houzz and chose Pilar because of her project photos and superior reviews.  We wanted the new basement to be contemporary but needed the rest of the house to tie in, which was more traditional.  Pilar helped pull the entire house together by mixing new pieces with existing furniture that we cannot afford to replace at this time. She brought over some of her own personal accessories (lamps, vases, benches, etc.) to see if they worked, and they did.  What I appreciated the most was Pilar's easy-going, but professional manner.  I was apprehensive to hire a designer because I thought I would be pressured to spend more than our budget allowed.  Nothing Pilar recommended was out of our price range.  All the discount stores.....It was like shopping with an old friend.  This short term project started right before the holidays and she worked hard to make sure our house was ready.  She rearranged furniture in one room that I admit, took me a few days to love (it had been the same for 14 years!!) but now I can't believe I had it any other way.  Our family & friends love the improvements but most importantly my husband is happy...big, big win.  Thank you Pilar!!
