My father was a painter.
My grandfather was a carpenter.

From the time I was old enough to hold a paintbrush or hand over a hammer, I was immersed in the world of home improvement. Weekends weren’t for cartoons—they were for helping out on job sites, learning the value of hard work, attention to detail, and the pride that comes from building something with your own two hands.

You could say remodeling runs in my blood.
But truthfully? It’s so much more than that.

Remodeling is my true passion—an outlet for both creativity and craftsmanship. I don’t just renovate homes. I help people fall in love with their spaces all over again. Whether it's transforming a dated kitchen into a chef’s dream or turning a cramped bathroom into a spa-like retreat, every project is an opportunity to create something that improves how people live.

Since 1986, I’ve had the honor of serving over 1,500 homeowners in our community. And I approach every single remodel with the same core values:

\- Precision craftsmanship
\- Transparent communication
\- Respect for your home and your time

At Lotz Renovations, we don’t believe in cutting corners. We believe in delivering on time, on budget, and above expectations—every time.

If you're ready to turn your vision into a reality, you're in the right place.

This isn’t just what I do.
This is who I am.

> First, I’d like to say thank you. You have helped to make a house our new home. You were very patient while I was considering different options for lighting and paint colors. You went above and beyond in resolving some issues I had with decorative trim that got in the way of a new fridge. And drapery brackets that I thought I could reuse. I couldn’t and you patched and repainted several spots on the walls. All of the painted areas turned out perfectly. I’m still not sure how you covered every inch in the laundry room. The “Very Navy” in the den room is a “Wow” moment in the house. You knew how to hide some imperfections that really made a difference. We truly appreciate everything you did. I wouldn’t hesitate to contact you again for future projects in the house. You are the best.

> Mike helped us update the bathroom in a home we recently purchased. He was honest and up-front in all communication from the quoting of the project to the completion of the project. Mike and his team always arrived on time and, at the end of each day, they communicated what we should expect the next day. Mike engaged with us throughout the design process which made it easier to find the best elements for our room We love the end result and enjoyed working with Mike during the project.

> In February of 2024, our house was hit by a tornado and as a result there was extensive damage to the house, both inside and outside. Mike and his team worked with our insurance company to ensure everything was covered and did a fantastic job restoring our house back to normal. Thank you Mike!

> Lotz Renovations, Inc did an amazing job installing our new bathroom floor. They were professional, polite, and always on time. We were particularly impressed with their attention to detail, ensuring everything was done perfectly. The installment pricing was very reasonable, making the entire experience even better. We couldn't be happier with the results. We highly recommend Lotz Renovations. We will definitely be using them again for future renovations. It was nice being able to support a local professional business.

> Michele,
> It was a pleasure working with you on this project. The best part was the ability to complete this project and not affect your home daycare business. The flooring looks great and I hope you enjoy your beautiful floor for a long time. Thanks again for your business and taking time to write this review.

> Mike and his team were very professional, on time and the communication was great! They cleaned up behind their self every day and it look like they were never here. > Thank you John & Margo it was my pleasure renovating your hall bathroom. To see the smiles on your face on a daily basis is what makes me know I am doing what I love. The bathroom turned out great and enjoy the insulated tub.

> Mike completed our kitchen renovation. He helped us to create a plan, choose cabinetry, tile, counter tops and accessories in a very comfortable and stress-free way. Once he started the project, he removed the old kitchen quickly, always mindful of keeping dust and dirt to a minimum. He worked non-stop on building our new kitchen, always arrived when he said he would, and completed the project ahead of our expectation. We were so pleased with the results and look forward to using Mike for our next project. We highly recommend him for your kitchen or bath project!

> Lotz Renovations came in and fixed multiple problems that were created by a local handy man service. When my doors and trim work was not not installed properly. Mike came in and fixed everything. I gave them complete access to my house and when we returned at night the house was left spotless. After new carpet was installed Mike came back to adjust the doors. Mike and his crew are very knowledgeable and very professional. I look forward to working with Lotz Renovations in the future on some additional projects that need to be done.

> Mike has done a wonderful job for us for several projects, including two complete bathroom updates, rec room, laundry room and home office. He has skilled professionals in all areas - tile, flooring, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, etc. Besides having the typical remodeling work done, I also had a couple of things that I wanted done that were "off the beaten path," including a custom office that I wanted built in a small closet, a built-in bookcase, and a decorative stone wall. He was able to advise us and give us good suggestions for these things, and they turned out fantastic. I get compliments on the stone wall all the time. Mike will really work hard to get things done if you have a deadline - he even had his team help us move boxes out of our living room so we could get our Christmas tree setup in time for the holiday. Highly recommended.

> Lotz Renovations finished our 1,000 square foot basement. The core work began in mid-December 2012 and was completed in mid-February 2013. The finished product is as close to perfection that any homeowner could hope for. Mike Lotz was fully invested in the project and counseled us on the selection of ceramic tile, granite, light and plumbing fixtures, carpeting, and millwork. Lotz also used a dust management system which served to greatly reduce the concrete and construction dust generated at the basement level. This was a major project which included design, concrete demolition, construction of a full wet bar, bathroom with shower, and entertainment area. Mike Lotz completed the project within the contract value and within his original time estimate. We added a few change orders which were treated as extras. Our finished basement has greatly enhanced our home life, and I give my highest recommendation to Lotz Renovations for any project large or small.

We suggested the Therma Tru fiberglass 8' entry door w/sidelights. The entry door has a multi point locking system which work great and the hardware also looks awesome.

## Community Q&A

**Q: POSTS or NO POSTS???** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have debated for a few years whether or not to move those posts. I would love suggestions from fellow Houzzers. Oh, and I wouldn't mind exterior color suggestions.

A: Removing the railings will be come a safety issue considering the height off the ground. I would dress up the large post with some exterior moldings and paint the small railings a different color to blend in with the base color of the home.

**Q: What color should my shutters be?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My house is all orange brick with a white garage door and light brown roof; I am looking to replace shutters and front door very soon but am not sure what colors to use. I recently got the grey number plate that says our address and I would like to make it fit somehow. Any advice?

A: I would recommend going with a Black Raised Panel shutter, this will also tie in with your Address plate.
