### Reviews

**★★ — fturton, Dec. 2024**

> We hired Davisville Kitchens for our condo kitchen remodel. They sold us on the fact that they are a one-stop shop and even convinced us to do our flooring with them so that everything could be done seamlessly. This was not the case, and we were often left on our own to manage the contractor (with whom we had multiple issues, which I wont get into for the purpose of this review). We were also placed in awkward situations between Davisville Kitchens and the contractor (who they brought on) over who was responsible for these issues.
>
> The work began in late August and we still have appointments with their counter installer in mid-December to address defects.
>
> While we had high expectations for Davisville kitchens and overall are happy with our kitchen, I would go elsewhere if I could do it all over again. Considering the price point (over $25K just for cabinetry, counter and backsplash and installation - all contractor work was extra), the experience and quality were sub-par.
>
> The main issue has been the lack of QA of work done by their installers, and the months long back and forth filled with awkward conversations over obvious defects (the person we work with at Davisville Kitchens will at first act like they don't see the defect and then shrug it off leaving us to suggest possible solutions), missed appointments, people constantly in our home, messes to clean up after, etc.
>
> A key example is that Davisville Kitchens let the electrician decide where to place the light box for the under cabinet lighting. It was placed inside the cabinet under the shelf, requiring a thick piece of wood to be placed on top and drastically reducing the height of our cabinet. It took multiple heated conversations with Davisville Kitchens before they agreed to move the light box behind the cabinet wall - all of which took a couple of hours of work by the contractor and should have been planned for up front.
>
> We also had to go back and forth over issues with cabinetry not being aligned, sloppy paint and caulking, toe kick drawers not working, etc etc. the biggest concern is that the base of our new island is splitting at the corner. The cabinetry installer told us that it was likely caused by the weight of the counter when it was installed (separate installer) and there is nothing he can do other than paint over it. Davisville
> kitchens has shrugged this off and are not offering a resolution.
>
> I will let the pictures speak for themselves - if this is the standard you would be ok with for the price point, then by all means Davisville Kitchens is a good choice.

**Comment from Davisville Kitchens:**

> We acknowledge the concerns and have addressed all of the items, with resolution expected shortly, dependent on product manufacture and delivery. Client has accepted this solution.

**★★★★★ — Maureen, May 2020**

> Best retirement gift to myself was a Davisville kitchen! Not only is the kitchen beautifully designed but is highly functional too. DK made the process easy and seamless from working with my designer, to installation and follow up. Thanks for such a wonderful gift!

**★★★★★ — Margaret Learn, May 2020**

> Our experience with Davisville Kitchens was a very positive one. Both Janelle and Jeff were patient and accommodating when it came to taking our ideas into consideration. They were both extremely pleasant to work with and responded to any issues we had promptly and efficiently. Our kitchen is small and was part of a complete ground floor renovation. It's very high use and we're loving the reconfigured layout.
> Would highly recommend.

**★★★★ — Julie Powers, April 2020**

> I hired Davisville to do my condo kitchen. I knew i wanted white slab cabinets with some detail on drawers and peninsula. Wish now id done that detail on all the doors! There were a few issues with measurements at the manufacturing level but in the end i got what i had envisioned.
>
> Janelle suggested some ways to add more storage to the kitchen which worked really well. I'd have no problem recommending Davisville Kitchens

**★★★★★ — Lesley Bennett, Aug. 2019**

> I feel like I lucked out when I walked into Davisville Kitchens to discuss my new kitchen project. I met Gail (Hamilton), who from that moment on has been courteous, patient and knowledgeable when I needed it most. In fact all of the talented people I met from Davisville Kitchens were a delight to work with and you definitely felt they were passionate about their work and cared about the quality of the finished installation. Gail visited a number of times to ensure things were going according to plan and that I was pleased with the work done. I would highly recommend visiting Gail to discuss your next project. Great people, great products and great service.

**★★★★★ — Erin O'Neill, Aug. 2019**

> We had an excellent experience working with Amanda & Jeff of Davisville Kitchens and very happy with our new kitchen. Amanda was very professional with great design ideas, She brought 2 different concepts and we chose the one outside of our original thinking that had her creative flair and eye for details. Amanda kept us on track with her collaborative and easy going style and was effective in guiding the decision making process without feeling overwhelmed. As we were replacing a large kitchen, I was most concerned with functionality and a quality product which they have delivered. Jeff has come by to make small adjustments and their customer service is second to none. With tweaks along the way we were also able to remain within budget! I would definitely recommend Davisville Kitchens.

**★★★★★ — C D, Aug. 2019**

> “My husband and I absolutely love our Kitchen Cabinets and Basement Storage all by Davisville Kitchens!
> Both Jeff and Amanda were extremely professional, attentive to the outmost details, and always went above and beyond to ensure we were completely satisfied with the end results! Their customer service truly pushes this company above the rest. I will be recommending Davisville Kitchen to others, and I look forward to doing more business with them in the future!” C + J

**★★★★★ — Patrick Marley, July 2019**

> We went to Amanda Rose at Davisville Kitchens knowing that we wanted to renovate our kitchen, but not knowing much else. We didn’t have any specific ideas on design, cabinets, countertops, etc. Amanda did an excellent job working with us to identify our taste and needs, and designed a kitchen that suited us perfectly. Amanda got right to the point in identifying what she thought would work and what wouldn’t, and didn’t overwhelm us with too many options and choices along the way. In short, she was a pleasure to work with and allowed us to get exactly what we wanted with a collaborative easy-going manner. We would definitely recommend working with Amanda and Davisville Kitchens.

**★★★★★ — Jennifer and Tim Bloomfield, March 2019**

> We have been extremely pleased with DK. The design, right down to all the details, is perfect! Our kitchen is very small and we took out a wall to create an open concept. There was absolutely no room for play in the dimensions and we needed the cabinets laid out to maximize the use of space. Amanda nailed the layout perfectly and worked though all the picky details. The kitchen suits the rest of our home, fits like a glove and functions very will. Jeff and Amanda work hard to please their customers delivering high quality products on time and on budget. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

**Comment from Davisville Kitchens:**

> Thanks so much Jennifer! It was great working with you as well! We are so happy that you are so pleased with your kitchen!!

**★★★★★ — Elie Farah, March 2019**

> We retained Davisville Kitchens to design and install our kitchen as part of our home renovation. It was a pleasure working with Amanda and Jeff. Amanda provided wonderful design insight and was an extremely effective project manager working on all aspects including cabinets, countertops, tile and hardware selection, as well as, appliance coordination. Install went well, appliances and counters were a perfect fit. The result was a beautiful bespoke kitchen which was delivered on time and on budget.

**Comment from Davisville Kitchens:**

> Thank you so much, Elie!! It was a pleasure working with you and your family on your kitchen. We are so happy with the final product and you were great clients!!

**★★★★★ — HU-871731833, March 2019**

> Jeff and Gail are great! They are responsive and professional. The install crew did a good job too.
>
> I love my new beautiful kitchen. Everything is so well thought out. I have the perfect space for my china, cutlery, pots and pans, and all kinds of gadgets.

**★★★★★ — John Rattray, Dec. 2018**

> We continue to be extremely pleased with our 2011 kitchen renovation and the outstanding on-going support from both Jeff and Amanda. They partnered with us to create a solution that suited our needs and captured the look we wanted. In November 2018 Jeff promptly responded to a request to adjust a hinge and undertook a full review of all of the hinges and drawers to ensure their alignment after years of use. Amanda connected us with a specialist in granite counter repairs to have a small chip (don't drop pots on the edge of the sink!) expertly filled so that the repair is invisible. We highly recommend DK!

  - Description: Working with custom home builders is something we love. Often there is a vision for the home which we love to incorporate into the design and finishes of each space. This was no different for the Neville Park project. BCMR Group wanted a family home with a beach flair and classic elegance - mission accomplished!

  - Description: For this project, the entire house was designed around a piece of family history that was the inspiration for the entire space. The design of the kitchen had to work with the feng shui and feeling in the home. We worked on the design and installation of the cabinetry for the kitchen, pantry, bar and dining area, which resulted in a beautiful space with amazing storage that works seamlessly throughout the open concept space on the main floor. - Description: The home owner for this project was looking for a space that was modern and luxurious, while remaining warm and accessible to family and guests. By using the white and dark grey, we created a tuxedo effect for drama, and with the introduction of the natural woods in the floors and ceiling fixtures added warmth to the space and created a nice framing effect for the cabinetry.

  - Description: In the original space, pre-renovation, the appliances didn't work together because of poor planning during the concept phase. The client, who loves to cook, sought out Davisville Kitchens for this renovation to help and ensure that this time around the appliances fit/work together and with each other and the cabinetry; as well their kitchen could be a place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. We achieved this with the use of a natural wood and clo…

  - Description: For this design, the love of light and nature was a big influence. The combination of a natural cherry and white lacquer with a custom made honeycomb backsplash pulled in all elements the homeowner had on their wish list. The open storage and wood trim created a lovely visual effect that tied the wall cabinets to the bases visually creating a harmonious effect throughout the space.

  - Location: Toronto, ON

  - Description: In kitchen design, there is no such thing as too much of a good thing. In this four wall kitchen, we had lots of options for the combination of cabinetry for this space. The trick was making all those options work together with our clients wish list (countertop space, pantry storage and glass display), and have a completed space that has a purpose and flow, which, in our opinion, this does with extra to spare!

  - Description: This house was brought to us by one of our custom home builders. Their client was looking to design a kitchen that highlighted his love of wine and also was a great space to prepare and cook for his family. Our solution was to design a space that has plenty of countertop space and storage solutions (check out that pull out knife block). We also created a custom wine glass display cabinet with a wine cork back, a definite focal point of this beautiful kitchen!

  - Description: When we first went out for a design appointment with this client, the kitchen was small and dark. There was one entry way and the cabinets were a dark wood and overflowing. This client, who is an avid baker, needed a space that held all of her favourite kitchen appliances, tools and accessories. She also wanted a space where she could enjoy her home, family and view of her backyard. We accomplished this by taking down the dividing wall between the family room and kitchen and using a beautiful wh…

  - Description: This project is unique, in that the island was not designed as place to sit down, unlike so many of others before. Instead this kitchen was designed to be used; from the preparation of a meal, to execution and storage of the ingredients, tools and leftovers, all while looking good doing it! The style of this kitchen is transitional with a classical elegance and one of our favourites from 2016.

  - Description: Warmth, elegance and functionality, these are the things that come to mind for us when we are describing this kitchen. The soft warm grey, custom hood unit and well thought out storage, along with the pantries, built in appliances and display make this kitchen, not only a success, but one we are proud of.

  - Description: This kitchen was designed for a young family. They required ample prep and cook space, a variety of storage options and something that met their contemporary aesthetic. We feel that all three needs were met with this design; first, the kitchen is equipped with plenty of drawers, that are full of organizers for cutlery, utensils, tupperware and water bottles. Second, the design allows for countertop space on either side of the stove and sink, which provided the clients with places to prepare, coo…

  - Description: The Atlas Avenue project was another one for a custom home builder of ours. Their vision for the space was timeless but contemporary. We achieved this look by using a shaker door, combined with a veneered wood for a modern two toned look. The ample countertop and pantry space incorporated into the design was a hit with their client!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Are the cabinets white or off-white?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where are the cabinets from? Are they white or off-white?

A: Thanks for your question. The perimeter kitchen cabinets are a white lacquer which brightens up this traditional kitchen.

**Q: Love the backsplash! Could you please tell me where it's from? Thanks!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi,
Thanks for your question. We have reached out to our client as they purchased the backsplash tile and we are waiting to hear back from them, but we think they may have bought it from Olympia Tile.

**Q: Would it be possible to see a floor plan?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I would love to see the entire layout of this cottage -

A: Hi,
We love how the design picked up the blues and greens of the natural landscape around the cottage. Unfortunately, we do not share our plans and we would be happy to meet with you to discuss and put together a layout for your cottage.

**Q: What company and pattern are the countertops?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi,
The countertop is Cambria's Torquay and its subtle gray veining adds interest to this classic white traditional kitchen.

**Q: Knobs/pulls?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you please tell me the knobs/pulls brand & style & color...very nice & simple! TY :)

A: Hi,
I'm sorry for the late reply. The knobs are from Top Knobs M1119 in Brush Satin Nickel. Fingerprints are not as obvious in that finish.

**Q: Cabinets?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Are these Cabico Cabinets?

Thank you

A: Thanks for your question but we do not carry that cabinet line.
