**Q: tile grout color** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hello , what grout color did you use? Was it difficult to apply?

A: The color was Marble Beige and the manufacturer of the grout is Laticrete Spectra lock premium grout. It is an epoxy grout that does have a learning curve with it since we have noticed it behaves differently depending upon the tile and joint size being grouted. It is much less forgiving than regular cement grout. I would recommend hiring a professional who has a lot of experience working with epoxy grouts and thinsets. It is the best grout money can buy as it is stain proof, never requires sealing, and has a lifetime guarantee.

A: That looks like marble mosaics to me.

**Q: Bathroom floor** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Need to replace typical builders square tiles.  Don't want the headache of grout cleaning.  I like the look of the tile that looks like hardwood.  Does that need grout?

A: Yes, all tile needs to be grouted including the wood plank tiles. Using the mudset method and rectified porcelain you can achieve a narrower grout joint that will give it a more realistic wood floor look. For a grout with superior stain resistance I would recommend Laticrete epoxy grout. Best of luck with your project.

**Q: Is this how subway tiles are supposed to look?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My wife and I are having our two bathrooms redone and decided on subway tile for both bath and shower. We stopped by the house today to see how things we're going and saw the subway tiles laid, but not grouted. It is our first time ever doing a remodel and are learning as we go. After seeing the subway tile today we felt completely defeated and frustrated. Can anyone tell me if this is how subway tiles are supposed to look prior to grouting? Will it look better when it is grouted and calked? We just feel like we might be getting ripped off here and the job is bad. Is this worthy of a redo?

A: This is not the work of a professional. Totally unaceptable and looks like a home owner did it. I'm sorry for your trouble, I can't imagine this contractor came with a great portfolio and references. I would ask for your money back or seek legal council. Below is a picture of a shampoo niche that we custom built with a higher degree of difficulty and you will notice that all the tile was installed either fulls or halves. I wish you the best of luck with your project and hope it all works out in your favor.

**Q: Flooring** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I need flooring options! I own 2 large breed dogs and work as a full time nanny. I am constantly cleaning up spills behind children, and because of potty training accidents (both human and canine) my floors are horrible! the dogs now associate the urine smell with an acceptable place to use the restroom. We have laminate wood flooring and liquid is quickly absorbed into the seams. Does anyone have advice for flooring that would not do this? My home is two stories and I want to put an epoxy coating on that level, but I am unsure about what to do with the upper level. Any suggestions?

A: Tile with epoxy grout would be my advice. We grouted this entire home using only epoxy and it is stain proof.

We have finally moved into our house and have the bathroom we've always wanted, but something seems missing. Artwork on the wall next to the closet door? Ottoman? Something else? Thank you for any help and suggestions.
