I’m amazed at how durable and almost maintenance free the Kayu wood is. I would recommend the use of Kayu as material for your deck building needs as ours have remained just like the day they were built.

He was trying to advise why this was happening and how to fix the problem when you hung up on him. He is a journeyman carpenter by trade and has extensive experience working with our hardwood products. Based on the information provided it is improper installation that is causing the splitting and cupping. There are specific recommendations for rooftop applications when there is low ventilation and high moisture environments. If you would like to reach out again or contact your Vancouver dealer so we can get this rectified.

What type of wood and stain was used for this fencing?

A: This is the Red Balau Batu hardwood, which comes from Indonesia. It has been finished with the Messmer's UV Plus for Hardwoods in the Natural tint.

A: Hello, this is the Messmer's UV Plus for Hardwoods in Natural.

**Q: Tiles** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where are these tiles from? What material?

A: Good Morning. Are you looking for the flooring tiles or the wood panels? 

We are a supplier of tropical hardwoods so the wood panels were custom made and are the Red Balau Batu hardwood. 
If you are looking for the type of flooring tiles we don't have this information available as we were not the ones who built this project.

**Q: Love the deck & privacy fence. Can you tell me the type of wood used?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi there - I’m in the process of designing a raised deck (off a second story which is also the main level), I love open decks but because I’m so close to my neighbor reall need some privacy. Love this picture, especially how the railing and privacy fence work together. Can you tell me the type of wood used? And what’s the height of the privacy fence?

A: Good Afternoon Mia,

We just supplied the wood for this project so I dont know the exact height of the privacy screen but to me it looks somewhere between 4-5 ft high. The wood that was used was called Meranti. An exotic hardwood from Malaysia.

A: Hello. This was finished with the Messmer's UV Plus for Hardwoods in the Natural tint.

**Q: Fencing contractors** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the Kayu Batu and would love to use it, but can’t seem to find a contractor willing or familiar with the product in the Edmonton area. Do you know of any fence/deck contractors in Edmonton who are familiar with your Batu woods? Feel free to PM if not appropriate to post openly.
