Bret (the president/owner) is incredibly responsive, engaged, and immediately available. the budget estimate was spot on, and when there were savings, Brett passed those on to us, and when there was more work necessary (unexpected complications, our request for in-project changes) he was clear, communicative, and transparent. Chris and Matt were the carpenter/assistant team who handled our project, and both were a pleasure to work with and to have in our home. Chris is a perfectionist who, in addition to being a highly skilled carpenter, is truly an expert at cabinet installation, tile work, metal work, and coordinating subcontractors. In contrast to other companies, where literally everything is subcontracted out, Chris and Matt did essentially all of the work themselves, from demolition to framing to tile prep to a cabinet installation, with only plumbing, electrical, and countertop installation subbed out. This meant that there was never any waiting on subcontractors or non-productive days. With regards to subcontractors, both the plumbers and electricians were top-notch, doing quality work on time and within budget. We were assigned a work team, Andy and Andres, who were always there and who ensured the house stayed as clean as possible during construction. They set up a surprisingly workable temporary kitchen in our dining room and even lent us a portable electric oven + burners. We really appreciated their skill and ability to handle anything, including the unpleasant discovery of extensive termite damage when they pulled up the old floor. Bret gave us choices for repairing it, which we appreciated. Now we have a beautiful new oak floor on top of structurally sound joists! I was redoing my kitchen, a small room behind the kitchen and my deck. I was doing this in memory of my husband who was the cook of the family and he always wanted a good kitchen to work in. I was finally able to start this project last year and as soon as Bret walked into my home I knew it was him who I wanted to do my project. We walked and talked through some ideas and I made the decision to start the work. I met Sarah, my wonderful designer and she took me around to pick out the cabinets at Northfield Kitchens where Sean was super easy to work with. We finished our selections of the other products I would need and work began. I had two wonderful fellows, Corey and Tyler who worked on the project. They were great to have around and walked me through everything they were doing. I was so happy with the end results. Everything is so beautiful and all my friends and relatives just love how everything turned out. I love sitting out on my new deck in the summertime and I know my husband is smiling down as I have finally gotten the knack of cooking! Thank you Bret, Sarah, Corey and Tyler and all the other workers who came in to finish up the job and give me such a beautiful space! I love it!
