> We chose the tope of the line with the newly released Florence XL 9” Vinyl Plank “Sierra Madre” based on the samples provided by contractor.  The product that was delivered looks like a completely different color, much darker throughout than the sample selection.  We were too far into our project by the time it was delivered so contractor convinced us to install anyway and not wait another 4 weeks to send back for a different color. While it is sturdy and seems to be a decent flooring product, we’re extremely disappointed with the overall appearance as it is much darker than the look we wanted.   The bottom selection on the sample board is the color “Sierra Madre.”

> We recently built a house and our builder subs out the hard surfaces work to Wholesale Flooring Services. We used WFS for all the tile in 4 bathrooms, back splash for the kitchen, the hardwood floors on the main floor and the carpeting in the basement and second floor. Overall, we were very happy with WFS. They delivered good quality materials and installation and were very responsive and fast to fix things when any issues came up. Special mention has to go to Kristin Borgman, the onsite designer at WFS. When we started this project, we were totally overwhelmed by the tile selection process. Kristin guided us through the whole process, doing a great job of understanding the look we were going for and finding tile that met our design goals and came in at budget. After she spent an extensive amount of time with us picking tile, flooring, and carpet, she went above and beyond and helped us pick paint colors for the interior of the house. Overall, she was a pleasure to work with and we're thrilled with the result.

## Community Q&A

**Q: New kitchen counters needed** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have a 1940's log cabin in Montana with the original  counter top which needs to be replaced.  What would be an appropriate material and look  for this replacement?

A: I would recommend a granite slab. That will keep the natural characteristics in your home and also give you an upgraded product. You could also do quartz that still has a more natural look like granite.

**Q: Granite in Bathroom** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm having granite put in my bathrooms and was told not do a 4 inch back splash, it dates the home.
Thoughts?

A: As a floor and counter top covering shop- any granite slab with a 4 inch splash is better then P-Lam! Doing a tile back splash would not be that expensive, especially if you kept with a reasonable priced mosaic. But, we have tons of homeowners and new construction contractors that use 4 inch splashes all the time. As of now, and years down the road I do not believe it will make your home look dated at all.

**Q: Fireplace tile** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I just got a sample of some travertine tile for the floor by our fireplace. Is it sturdy enough for the floor? Or is it more of a wall tile?

A: Depending on where you got it from- you should be able to ask if its floor and/or wall rated. That will give you your answer if its okay on the floor.

**Q: Kitchen black granite white cabs, light gray wall -  accent color?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I need to purchase 4 bar stools and need help of what color...need good accent in general. Appliances and gadget holder all in ssteel. Backsplace coming soon.  Currently have blue/white vases in back shelf.  This is a full-time live in beach cottage. Family room has old style red brick fireplace.

A: Do not choose red. Reds are the default of "accent" colors and they are over played. Pick something in the blue family or work within tertiary colors ( blue-green, yellow-orange, red-violet). Your kitchen already has a strong contract between black and white, you do not need to add an extreme pop of color.

**Q: where can i get the carpet in the photo?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I like the brown and gold colors.

A: Its a carpet from Tuftex. Unfortunately I do not think this style is still carried, but they have many styles similar!

**Q: Need to make a decision, LVP??** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I've been researching LVP brands & styles until my head is spinning.  We are building a new house and it will be installed in the laundry room, master bathroom, kitchen & dining room area.  I think I've narrowed down my choices to Karndean, Floorte by Shaw and Earthwerks.  We will be using the glue down system.  Any input is MUCH appreciated regarding the above brands, why or why not choose them?

A: We have installed Karndean products many times and they are great! I have to agree with Shaw Floors- Floorte is a great product. I have not seen it installed but the fact that its a waterproof product and Alto Plank has some very realistic styles and colors.
