> I found Westbrook Restorations on an internet video they made about repairing house rot. It was a perfect fit for me since I had removed an old deck,and discovered rot that went under my ledger board and into the perimeter joists of the house. The work was beyond me, and I worried about the integrity of the house structure.Daniel came out within a day or two, calmed me down and reassured me this was exactly what he does.His bid came the next day and he began work within the month. He and his assistant,Kannon, were great.  they were neat, punctual,explained all the details and did very careful meticulous work. The original rot was a little less severe than originally thought, but they uncovered another rotted section that was worse.  They put in flashing and waterproofing that will prevent a recurrence,and also replaced French doors that were part of the problem as well. They completed the job on schedule and under budget.  These guys are not cheap, but they are great, and you get what you pay for...a well done job.

Westbrook did an evaluation, told me he was not the cheapest contractor, and  gave me an estimate, both time and cost.  From talking with him, seeing online videos of some of his projects, I felt he could meet my high standards for the job's completion. Daniel and his crew were on the site everyday at 8 AM, rain or shine. He and his crew were professional and courteous. His work area was cleaned up daily. He talked with me at least once a week to make sure both parties were communicating about work progress, time expectations, and keeping within an agreed budget. He replicated to a T the unique design of my front fascia, a work of art in itself, which I thought might be impossible to do.  The work was completed in an 8 week period and was 7% below the estimated budget. He takes complete pride in his craft and the finished project.

**Q: Is the design acceptable as shown with no handrails at stairs? Awesome** *(in Photo Questions)*

Great look. Is wisconsin within your work zone? Just kidding...

A: yes your are correct. Its historic and existing and grandfathered in, plus its less that 30" so not necessarily requiring a railing. project was replacing with like and in kind matching existing historic A minimalistic grab railing can be installed if desired without retracting from the historic value of the home.

A: I really don't. The client purchased on line. So they are new, but do have that old look.

Do you have tile information for the backsplash? It is a nice look with the soapstone. 

Also do you have the paint color used on the cabinetry?

A: The tile is kind of clear etched, and paint is somewhere in the vein of a traditional white. Bone I think.

What type of wood flooring was used on the outside deck flooring

A: Traditional Vertical grain t & g fir flooring

**Q: What material is this made out of and how was it finished? Thanks!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The decking is "iron wood" or ipe. The railing is a combination of vertical grain cedar and d & better cedar. I believe the railing was finished with a Sikkens stain product. Not sure but maybe Penofin for the decking. This pic shows all raw wood before finishes. Does this help?

The most beautiful countertops ever. What would you expect to pay per sq ft installed?

A: Hello. it really depends on your cabinet lay out, and the size of the slabs you choose, the seam locations thickness etc. As a Custom Remodel Contractor here in Seattle it's almost impossible for me to provide you with an accurate per square foot price, as all of our projects are unique.
