**Q: what do you use for ground that makes it red** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hello - the red areas in the mulch are plugs of Dragon's Blood Stonecrop.  It's a groundcover that will spread slowly in between the flagstones.  Thanks for asking!

Your work is gorgeous!  What is the circumstances of the fire pit?

Sorry - Not sure what you mean by circumstances.  Do you possibly mean circumference?  The easiest way to measure these is by diameter - this one is approx. 46" to outside of block.  Let us know if you have other questions!

**Q: Plants, and where planted** *(in Photo Questions)*

We live in St Charles, can you please tell me what kind of flowers these are?  Also being fairly new here, what kind of plants survive the hot summers?  I planted a lot last year, most died, or eaten despite the deterring spray I used.

A: Hello and welcome to the area! Robert is correct - those shrubs are 'Delaware Valley' Azaleas and they are performing fantastically on the Northeastern side of this house where they get some morning sun, but mostly shade. We were also able to provide our own amended topsoil mix in the planting beds that was a better growing medium than the VERY clay soils we have!
There are a ton of great shrubs and perennials that are beautiful here! Obviously each has different requirements for sun exposure, water availability, soil requirements etc so it's just about choosing the right plant for the space.
