Published in England at the end of the 19th century, they were a treasure trove of European architecture and historical design. Fascinated, Robert spent hours trying to draw what he saw, mimicking the complexities of perspective and proportion. A carpenter's job at a construction site when he was sixteen had a meaningful and lasting effect on him. He could not get the look and smell of the wood nor the beauty of the symmetry of the built forms out of his mind. Nearly thirty years after his first job, Robert and his seven member staff have a high-end niche.
