> Brandon turned my house into a true home for my kiddos! I commissioned a 3-bed sleeping pod system, complete with 4 closets and desks to go into a large semi-basement faceless room.  I started with a napkin drawings and idea pictures and over the course of a month, we hammered out a gorgeous design.  Brandon was very professional, accommodating and flexible; and came up with a 3d model to highlight the project features.  He built everything mostly in his workshop and installed over 2 weeks in our place. It has been 2 months and a smile is still on their faces when they enter the room. **Q: Bulky, ugly dormer is ruining an entire room. Help!!!** *(in Home Decorating)*

We've just purchased a home that has three bedrooms plus this "bonus" room that, in my opinion, is wasted space. This dormer juts into the room so badly, that I'm feeling like it's nearly impossible to make this bonus room usable. I don't want to just slap some paint on or try to design around it. Ideally, I'm looking for suggestions on what to do with it. Can something else be done/altered with it or is this pretty much unable to be altered in a way that would get rid of the large footprint it currently takes up in the room? I wish I could just "chop off" that right sided dormer. The one on the left isn't so bad, it's the right on that's the problem. The top photo doesn't look so bad, but see the bottom photo. The room is quite small and there's no working around them..Please help! Thank you in advance.

Changing this aspect would really change the appearance of the front (or back) of the house. It could be done though..

**Q: PLEASE HELP, can’t visualize how to make this room pop!** *(in Home Decorating)*

I painted our family room from rust red to a neutral color. The room looks so much bigger but we need colorful art work to break up feeling like we’re in a tan box. I’ve found stuff (see below) I like but i cant visualize it. I also don’t know if we can pull it off in our house. My kitchen which is the next room over has a lot of teals and oranges. Id like a large horizontal abstract canvas picture above couch on the the slanted wall. Something that will make the room pop. I’m thinking about putting the metal piece  on the stairwell which is in the same room. I’m afraid pick two pieces that won’t go together in one room. Please help !

**Q: POLL: Carpet in a bathroom - yes or no?** *(in Polls)*

I feel like I have mostly seen this in older homes and vacation rentals. It seems like something I've seen more in colder climates. I have always wondered why one puts carpeting in an area that would make it so much harder to keep clean, but I may be alone in that. What is the general consensus?
