> I hired Jeff Watson / Scottish Builders to complete tile work on a new custom home and unfortunately ran into ongoing issues throughout the project, including delays, communication challenges, and workmanship concerns.
>
> After completion, several deficiencies were identified. A bathroom inspection failed due to a leak that was documented by the inspector. There were also noticeable lippage issues in the tile, along with damage to finished flooring and carpet that resulted from a lack of proper jobsite protection. Additionally, tile cutting was performed inside the upstairs master shower without protecting the already finished and painted walls, which caused damage to those surfaces.
>
> The finish work around key areas was also a concern. Tile cuts around drains were jagged and improperly finished, requiring additional corrective work and alternative remedies to bring them up to standard.
>
> There were also more serious installation concerns discovered during the repair process, including the absence of a proper shower pan liner and grout being introduced into the P-trap, which required a licensed plumber to replace portions of the drain system.
>
> After outlining these issues and the associated back charges needed to correct the work, Jeff Watson / Scottish Builders filed a lien on the property and, through their attorney, demanded payment that included additional charges that were not part of the original agreement or any approved change orders.
>
> Due to the extent of the issues, corrective work is ongoing and has required significant additional time and expense.
