> I can't say enough praise about JSB Designs. I worked with Jill while we renovated our home. It's a modest/small home, but she made things so easy and stress-free. I loved that she stopped by frequently, just to see how the house was coming along and ensure everything was done to her liking. One of my favorite projects was the bathroom tile. She picked a beautiful porcelain floor tile and had it installed diagonally. This took the design from ordinary to "designer". I would have never picked it/installed it that way on my own, but I LOVE it.

**Q: Help! Ideas to spruce up cedar sided house** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I feel like this house needs some color or something to break up the brown. Also maybe something different over the door than the little roof? I just feel like this all needs something as far as color and design.... just not sure what. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A: I love your home! If you're not looking to make major exterior changes to your home, you could bump up your curb appeal with landscaping and some outside decor - colorful outdoor furniture, a boldly-painted front door and plants in colorful pots. Sometimes just some small touches of color can make a huge impact!

which wall would be best for an accent wall? im thinking of a soft yellow to compliment the teal couch or taupe.

A: Instead of painting one wall another color, have you considered adding a texture or alternative finish? One of the trends I noticed at this year's market was this concept for "accent walls." As an alternative to painting one wall just a bolder or different color, designers are using upholstery, durarock or even lattice work on walls to add depth and make them stand out. This pic is an example of the durarock.
