When we bought the house, I didn't realize how much I would dislike the kitchen. I consulted with numerous companies because I had to assure myself that I was making the right choice and I did. Frank and Tracy and all the construction people are highly qualified and care about you. We had some family difficulties going on during this and I honestly felt like I had additional family in here helping us and alleviated any worries I had. In addition to a full kitchen demolition and redesign, we got new windows, brickwork, 1600 sq feet of hardwood flooring, moving walls, and the comfort of knowing it was being done right. They have the knowledge, experience, and ideas. Instead of being miserable with the way the house was, I am in love with it. I couldn't post the most recent pics because my cell phone is goofing up. We were ready for a change and decided to remodel the master suite. We interviewed five contractors and hands down Harlequin came in on top. Their excellent design ideas, meticulous follow through and genuine courtesy and kindness was evident throughout the project. The project manager was in touch daily with updates on our project. There were very few "surprises, " but the few that appeared were handled by Harlequin with excellent alternative ideas and solutions to a resolution. This is why we hired them and based on the fact that we did not see any negative reviews. This negative review is solely based on the quality of work done and the fact that 6 months later we are still having issues with our bathroom projects and things that they’ve come out to fix are still not right. Some things that we consider sub standard we have accepted as complete simply because we don’t feel they could be redone without major headaches for us and fears that it would be worse than it is now. Based on other reviews, perhaps our experience is an anomaly, but it is our experience and we will not hire them again and we don’t recommend them. Please note, their trades people are all sub contractors. We are always looking to improve our processes for our clients. > Yes, all of our trades are sub contractors and we make every single one of our clients aware of that, as we did with you. We could not agree more that our tile installer did a less than sub par job with your shower, and we were just as unhappy as you were with the work, if not more! We offered on multiple occasions to have this work ripped out and fixed to meet your expectations and ours, it was your choice to not have us make that correction. We have since fired that tile installer because of your exact project and lack of craftsmanship on his end. > It is unfortunate that you are having issues with the shower but It is not uncommon for shower valves to fail and it does not reflect a lack of ability on our end. Our plumber has been out to address this problem. We are in contact with Moen to have replacement parts sent to us. We have always addressed anything you have brought to our attention at the time of your project and after. > The process of a remodel is not always easy and sometimes problems do come about. Our team works to address any of those problems in a timely and effective manner. It is unfortunate that we were not able to meet your expectations. The remodel of your bathrooms turned out beautiful in our opinion, even through the issues. Danielle and Tracy worked with us to design a room that now provides efficient work space and accessible storage. Their plan expanded the room into an adjacent closet that now houses a new washer/dryer tower and a handy broom closet. The addition of cabinetry, open shelving, and a new sink has made the room a pleasure to work in. > > Harlequin performed all construction: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, ductwork, drywall and painting. New cabinets, countertop, sink, flooring, lighting, and custom shelving were installed. We were stuck in a late 60’s rancher that had never been updated except for some terrible DIY projects left for us by the previous owner. Now we have the most beautiful home that works so well for our large multigenerational family. > Tracy, the designer, and I worked very well together on every part of the design process as we practically gutted our 2000 sq. ft. home. Walls were taken down, new rooms created, and everything was updated. We have a new kitchen, dining room, mud room, full bath, and even a relaxing bedroom suite with a walk-in closet. That is only part of it as there isn’t a space in our house that they have not touched. She was always there for design help, offering the experience of what has worked (or not worked) for her in the past. We now have a gorgeous open concept home with a flow that allows for a large family and friends to gather. > Our kitchen is beautiful!!! Tracy took time to learn how our family of 10 functioned and designed the perfect flow for us. This is definitely a family kitchen. I have never worked in one better laid out. There is a ton of space and now our whole family can cook together (including some that never cooked before). There is room for the kids (6 of them) to be right in the middle of it if they want to be without anyone getting in each other’s way. The decorative choices are better than I could have possibly imagined. > They are very professional and easy to work with. The project manager, Frank, stopped by every day. He ran things smoothly and kept us in the loop all the time. We knew just what to expect with daily communication. The tradespeople were meticulous, and the work was of the highest quality. Everyone was there when they said they would be and were very personable. > One of the best things was that, on top of all the amazing work, the folks from Harlequin are so easy to work with. They are very accommodating. They arranged things so that with all of us struck here during a pandemic (some working from home), we were not inconvenienced much at all. The took every precaution to keep us all safe and switched around steps in the remodel to make it easier for us (for example: not going without a kitchen at all, being able to sleep in our bedroom and never losing the living room). > I could write for days about how amazing working with Harlequin has been, but I will end with saying I am so satisfied with the way my home has turned out.
