> This project was a complete remodel in which Amy Sklar Design ingeniously enlarged the kitchen to maximize storage space and the comfort of two avid cooks working together.  The beat-up 70s kitchen my husband and I had been living with for years has been transformed into a comfortable, contemporary one.

Sklar consulted with us on the layout, created numerous detailed renderings, helped select a contractor, and provided invaluable shopping and buying guidance for every detail of the room.  Sklar saved us valuable time by paying visits to our home with samples, swatches and photographs and sending website referrals and links to specific products including paint colors, tiles, surface materials, appliances, fixtures, and furniture.  There was additional regular communication throughout design and remodeling process by phone and email.

> Amy is absolutely amazing.  I had never worked with a decorator before because I love doing my own decorating.  The guest bedroom was my last project in my three bedroom Santa Monica house and I didn't really have the time to do it myself.  I'd also inherited some antique furniture pieces that were completely out of my decorating comfort zone.  She came in, looked at my style and immediately knew exactly what I was going for.  She's warm and stylish and fun and made the whole process such a pleasure.  I initially hired her to redecorate just the guest bedroom but I was so thrilled with her work that I ended up using her for projects in my loft and dining room as well.  I feel like she put the same kind of energy and pride into my house that she would put into her own.  She surrounds herself with a wonderful team of people and everyone from the cabinet builder to the electrician to the painter was creative and professional.  I also appreciate that Amy knows where to save and where to splurge.  I feel like my money was well spent and that she has a good sense of budget.  I wasn't sure how much I wanted to spend (which probably isn't the right thing to say to a decorator!) but she helped me make smart decisions.

A: Hi! There are windows facing East and South, the cabinets are benjamin Moore Pale Oak, and the ceilings are BM Simply white.
