- Location: New York, NY

 - Description: 1920's co-op building in NYC. Remodelled to reflect an up-dated approach to turn-of-the-century style.
- [New 1850's Greek Revival Farm House](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/new-1850-s-greek-revival-farm-house-pj-vj~137232)
 - Location: Old Greenwich, CT
 - Photos: 20
 - Description: This property was previously the site of a small 1850's farm house. However, over time, undisciplined remodelling destroyed the historic integrity of the building. Once we had documented portions of the building with the Historical Society, we dismantled the structure taking care to salvage materials that could be used in the new building or recycled in other 1850 buildings throughout New England..

 - Location: West Dover, VT

 - Description: This Vermont property is on the side of a mountain that once was farm land. It was only appropriate to design a rustic barn-like building overlooking the valley.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Exterior paint color** *(in Photo Questions)*

What color is your exterior? So pretty!

A: Thanks! It's a great color. Benjamin Moore "Vanilla Milkshake"
https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/2141-70/vanilla-milkshake

**Q: Where can I find this wall light?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Does anyone know where I can find this wall light? I have looked on many websites and see nothing like it! Sorry for the grainy picture - best I have. Thanks for your help!

A: Did you try Hudson Lighting?

**Q: New laundry room** *(in Design Dilemma)*

This is my laundry room in my basement. Any ideas of what I should put next to the clock? I don't want to put a cabinet. Thank u!!!

A: How about a large poster on the entire wall...certainly brings doing laundry into a whole new dimension!

**Q: Small Space Between Fridge and Window** *(in Design Dilemma)*

When I drew up the plans for my kitchen I originally planned to use the small 44" space between my window and my fridge for a bar and and 2 bar stools. I live in a one bedroom home and have no place to eat meals. My appliances were delivered today and once seeing the fridge in place, I'm worried the space will be too cramped for the bar and stools. What do you all think?

If it's too small, I have a full wall in my living room off the kitchen that could be used to mount a wall bar.

A: Please step back and take a photo so we can see the location as it refers to the overall space.

**Q: Exterior Help Please** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I would like to change the color of the off white trim accents and shutters on my home.
The shutters are a dark green (don't like them at all!). Any thoughts or suggestion on new colors and coordinating will be greatly appreciated.

A: I suggest you not paint your gutters a lighter color unless you paint the trim. They are really not an architectural element here and need weight if they are to be in contrast with your main house color. Painting only the gutters would serve to fragment the lines of the house. Right now they are a cohesive extension of the roof line and color.

**Q: Cabin entrance** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I need help with my cabin entrance. I put up log siding without much thought to the whole curb appeal. It is a slightly pitched roof and I cant figure out how to improve this entrance. I've looked at lots of pictures online but need help. Any advice and/or picture ideas would be very helpful.

A: Consider creating a platform in the front of the entry that can accommodate a bench , planter, etc. along with a nice pair of side lights. Basically, it becomes a welcoming space before you get inside. It will also help to give depth to your front landscaping approach and avoid a long line of plantings.
