> Going from a Midwest historical district to a gated community in the tropical Hawaiian environment, our move to Hawaii necessitated a lifestyle change. I enlisted the help of interior designer Charles Dunlap knowing I must start anew and expand my design aesthetic, starting with letting go of beloved antique furniture that did not belong in a desert environment. We reviewed architectural plans, chose color palettes, furniture and window treatments with practical UV and indoor/outdoor fabrics, and even imported porcelain tiles for some of the flooring.

> Charles assisted us with the remodeling of our kitchen.  We originally wanted to only update counters, hardware and appliances.  However, Charles suggested taking down a small wall that separated kitchen and breakfast nook. He prepared 3D drawings of the space to help us visualize what it would look like with the wall down.  The difference was amazing!
