We wanted to make some changes without affecting the architectural integrity of the house and we wanted to be sure the exterior remained the same. She was fabulous! When we decided the 1st plan was too expensive, she reworked it to come up with a less extensive renovation but one that still would improve the way we used the space. It turned out beautiful! Her architecture work is so professional and detail-oriented and she explains everything so well and answered all our questions. But then her design work is awesome, too. She helped me choose tile, hardware, fixtures for the bathroom, etc. She listened to my concerns and what I wanted but she definitely incorporated her style, which is gorgeous. She listened to what we wanted in our remodel project and offered her expert suggestions. She also worked closely with the contractors through the building process. The result was a perfect outcome. We added a second story to our Linden Hills bungalow and it looks like it has always been that way. The style blends perfectly inside and out, and with the style of the neighborhood too. Among the other aspects of the remodel were expanding the kitchen and adding a fireplace with book shelves in the living room, a Craftsman bungalow detail our house had been missing. I cannot recommend Meriwether strongly enough. She is fun to work with and a superb architect. **★★ — A5hw1n, April 2016** > I hired this lady to provide an inspirational design idea for a small space of about 56 sq ft. It was a small project so we decided a fee. I paid 80% of that fee. She then came up with 1 sketch, it was OK, it did not wow me. I asked for her to wow me and I never heard from her again. Which was strange as she seemed nice. When we met again to review, not only did I provide a sketch of this, I provided plans and interior elevations along with product that were suitable for pricing. It's a really lovely scheme and it accomplishes what you stated were your goals for this room .With a couple of edits based upon on our further conversations this scheme is the best solution for your room. I know drawings can be difficult to read and I certainly hope my portfolio of finished work speaks for what can happen if we work on this together. You expressed a desire to go in another direction and I did some additional research for you free of charge to see if we can make your room happen in another way. I also thought the home needed a nice covered main entry. A breezeway porch was enclosed for the laundry room. A four foot addition was made to accomodate a larger kitchen, as a result foundation and structural considerations were important. Meriwether listened closely to my objectives in terms of function, weighed carefully my aesthetic taste, and added property value. Her concepts paid close attention to the light, space and flow, and some very interesting and unique options. She remained very open to my ideas on some specific finishes while stretching me in other finishes. In the end it was a very beautiful and functional space, that provided a lovely greeting to all who came to visit. Meriwether was very easy to work with. She provided solid recomendations as to contractors, each with their own strong points. She would call the contractor/subcontractor on any work that was not up to par, as well as working with them where any solutions were required. She also brought plenty of cost saving options to the table.
