> We contacted Kitchens N Sync(KNS) in March of 2016. Bobbi Jo took a lot of time with us to design a kitchen that we really liked. We felt very comfortable with both Bobbi Jo and Rick and paid the 50% deposit with VISA. They quoted us approximately three days to complete the installation. We kept in touch via email and the response time was very quick. Two dates were scheduled to install the cupboards. We were required to pay another 45% of the total before they would start installing the cupboards which they insisted we pay with cheque. The skeleton of the cupboards was installed and they were supposed to come back that week to finish the installation. Because it is an old house the kitchen was completely gutted and we were working with seven different trades which we coordinated around the schedule KNS agreed to. KNS did not show up for the second scheduled day, which was very frustrating for us, having paid 95% of the cost, and because the other trades were coming based on the assumption that KNS would complete their part of the renovation. After many emails over a
> period of a few days, we had to cancel our other trades since we did not know when or if KNS would complete their work . Frustrated with being ignored, we wrote them another email asking for them to get back to us or we would have to take further action. They responded to us after this letter with an abusive letter telling us that Rick's father had died and that they had never dealt with such terrible customers. Either we change our attitude or they would not deal with us. If they had only given us a quick email reply to tell us about the unfortunate situation we would not have been so worried and could have told our other trades the situation and rescheduled. After many emails back and forth, they agreed to come
> in and finish the cupboards. The cupboards doors and trim were installed well for the most part, but there were large gaps in the corners of the crown molding, and trim on the bottom of the cupboards. There were gaps between the walls and the cupboards edges, chips on the top of the cupboard walls, uneven cupboard panels as well as a flaw in the finish of one cupboard door. When Rick asked for the final 5%, I said that these deficiencies needed to be fixed. He laughed at me and said, "Oh, you want a perfect kitchen". I stated that I simply wanted the quality of workmanship I saw in the showroom. He left and did not return. Sixteen months after the initial payment, many emails and the involvement of a lawyer, the cupboards are still unfinished. They refuse to finish the work until we pay them the remaining 5% which we are reluctant to do as this is the only negotiating tool we have to ensure they finish the work, and as their website states, create the kitchen of our dreams. Although we
> are happy with the design and the overall look of the kitchen, because of their unwillingness, or ability to finish the work in a professional manner, and the cost and headache of trying to get them to complete their part of the contract we have decided to find a more ethical
> contractor to complete the shoddy finishing work.

> Bobbi Jo was very agreeable during the design process and created a design that was very beautiful and functional. We were asked to pay 95% of the cost before the installation of the cupboards began. The installation of the skeleton of the cupboards went well and was completed as per our agreed upon schedule. The installer did not show up for the second agreed upon date and having already prepaid thousands of dollars we were a little anxious. We also had 5 sub trades lined up, based on the original agreed upon schedule, so this delay also made it necessary to hold off these trades who were fitting us into their busy schedules. We did not hear from Kitchens N Sync after many emails and sent one final email voicing our frustration and telling them that we needed to hear from them so that we could let the other trades know what was happening and reschedule their services or we would have to take further action. We received a very angry, rude letter in return. Their reason for the lack of communication was the owner's father's death, which was totally legitimate, but if they had simply sent out an email to that effect and given us a time frame, that would have calmed our fears and allowed us to give some sort of time frame to the other trades. They completed the kitchen with some minor problems that were corrected, but there were significant flaws in the finishing. Crown molding joints and trim corners were finished with significant gaps that you could see right through, chips in the edges of cupboards and uneven cupboard faces. When Rick came to pick up the check for the remaining amount I suggested that there were many finishing discrepancies that had to be completed and that the gaps had not even been caulked. When he came to see these discrepancies, he laughed and said "Oh you expect a perfect kitchen". This was not the quality of finishing that we saw in their show room and as per their mission statement which states they are dedicated to excellence and will create the kitchen of your dreams. Instead they told me the kitchen was "useable" and that if I wanted them to do anything else I would have to pay the remaining 5% first. I was reluctant to do that as this was my only negotiation tool I had to make sure they finished the job completely.
> It has been almost a year and a half since I paid the 95% deposit and the cupboards are still not finished. I have involved a lawyer and still nothing has been done. The kitchen design is lovely and I am very happy with the layout, but the sloppy finishing and flaws does not make it a "dream kitchen". Because of their lack of professionalism, poor communication and sub standard workmanship, I will be using someone else to make the repairs and complete the finishing.
