After a few months of back-and-forth with the designer and builder it became apparent that they didn't really seem interested in anything other than getting the contract. We'd also started hearing stories from our neighbors about the firm not finishing jobs in a timely manner, and going days or weeks without showing up. Even though we'd already spent several thousand dollars with them we decided to look at other firms. > Through Houzz we found Sardone / McLain. When they took over this project, they came over and wanted to know how we live in our house. they asked "What are the things about the house you love? What are the things that you would like to see better. How do you use it? Where do you spend most of your time? Where do your guests congregate?" The Reno consisted of 75% of the total structure, including a new master bath, a new and expanded kitchen, a new laundry room, and moving a bed/bath from tkhe back of the house to the front. The entire Reno took six months and we had to move out to an apartment. Including the design phase it was a 16 month project. Sardone-McClain was a simply perfect partner throughout. Their designer patiently took us thru every option from island design to cabinet hardware. She had a unique ability to translate our vision into reality. > The construction phase went incredibly smoothly. Sardone’s relationship with its contractors ensures quality work done on time. Our on-site project manager was present everyday and ensured quality and communication. The job was completed on time and we were involved every step of the way. In 2023 all of our wood siding completely rotted and we began having multiple leaks inside our home. Every siding company we called to fix it said the same thing: this should never happen to a house this young; the materials (type of boards and paint) used were wrong, the wood was not primed, the seams were aligned incorrectly and thus it was a completely avoidable problem caused by shoddy workmanship. It cost us $30,000 to remedy the issue by replacing ALL of the siding. We reached out to Sardone Construction who completely ignored us and refused to make things right or stand behind their work. Would strongly advise against hiring them unless you want things to fall apart much sooner than they should and be stuck paying for the repairs yourself. **Comment from Sardone \| McLain:** > We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns regarding your experience with the home built by Sardone Construction.
