> Hiring Antoinette was extremely valuable.  Although I had a certain vision, knew which stove I wanted, color and design of cabinets, etc. hiring a talented and experienced professional is key to not making costly mistakes in a kitchen.  She had a brilliant idea for a double island and rightly convinced me to remove an original fireplace mantle (that can be re-used elsewhere in the home).  She spatially made the kitchen work beautifully with retractable doors for appliance hutch and bar and hidden spice and towel racks.  From cabinets to countertops, all of the products were top-notch.  Her connections for lighting allowed us to have gorgeous accent lighting for our custom cabinets and even a custom antique chandelier for our 1901 Brooklyn built townhome.  Whenever we entertain folks are blown-away by our kitchen combining all the luxury of modern day with the look of detailed old-world charm.  Antoinette has an unerring eye which made our renovation full of surprises (which most renovations are), manageable with a stunning outcome.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Distance from column fridge to island** *(in Appliances)*

We going with the Fisher and Paykel 32" side by side (freezer on bottom) or the Electrolux 33" by 33". My question is... Design currently has about 42" from fridge to island. The appliance rep said 42" is perfect. I have a designer I trust, but am still nervous about this decision and would love input. Every inch I give to the walkway brings the island down in size, so it's a big decision.
