I thought that the quality I might receive would be better than what one might find at the big box stores (especially at this price), but, boy, was I wrong. It leaves here as raw unfinished hardwood. All you would need to do is lightly scuff up the surface of the moulding with some high grit sandpaper upon receiving it to raise the grain to give the stain a good surface to stick to.
