The building was built in 1967 and the apartments are no frills to put it kindly. Blythe redesigned the space with attention to maximizing the interior light, storage space, and giving the space a modern, luxurious feel. Details like making the door frames higher, partial drop ceiling for recessed lighting that gives the illusion of a higher ceiling, a sliding door separating the bedrooms from the living room, enlarging the bathroom, an open kitchen design, shelving, modern radiator and AC covers, the decision on which direction to lay the flooring, and hidden storage cabinets throughout the apartment maximize the space and minimize the clutter. Blythe Studios care about client satisfaction and will see the project through to the end, oversee the contractor's work and remain interested and helpful even five years later. He also found creative solutions for maximizing beauty and storage in a small kitchen and 1.5 baths. Those are the 'Mini Crescent Pendant' by Lee Broom, a British company but they are sold here in the States now also. **Q: How were those floating stairs constructed?** *(in Photo Questions)* They look fantastic! I would obviously concerned about how much weight they could bear. A: The stairs are wood treads attached to cantilevered steel bars welded to steel beams within the wall.
