> I have admired Brynn Charles Designs' style and creativity for years, so when it was time for us to re-decorate our family room, kitchen, and master bedroom, I knew that Melissa was my go-to designer….even with 1,700 miles between us!  With one quick visit to us, Melissa helped develop a plan of action, encouraged me steer away from my normal neutral colors, and stayed within our budget easily.  After that, we easily worked together via websites, emails, phone calls, texts, to make final decisions and orders - thank goodness for technology and Melissa's attention to details and great ideas!  The outcome has been amazing - everyone raves about the new look - we love living in our home again!  As we are now considering adding on to our home, I know that Melissa will be an integral part of the design of our new space!  Thank you!!

She found great furniture and rugs at good values and came well within our budget.  She encouraged the use of a few existing items in other rooms. > Thank goodness for Melissa and Brynn Charles Designs!!  She recently completed a project for me at a house which I own but no longer live in.  If I had any hope to rent it out, it REALLY needed some sprucing up, but I hesitated to put too much money into it.  I gave her my budget of $1500 thinking that it would get a clean up, though not having high expectations that she could do too much within my budget constraints.  And, I needed her to do it fast so as not to lose out on the spring rental market.

> Melissa completely failed at managing my expectations. Before I signed with her I gave her a budget and asked her if it was a realistic number. She jumped at it and said we would have no problem staying on budget. I would never have hired her if she didn't think she could stay within the confines of my budget. Her proposal for admittedly what would be about 50% of the total project was 20% over budget. Which translates to me spending 250% of my budget had she seen the project to completion. When we came to an impass she abruptly deleted the idea board I’d been saving ideas to and terminated our relationship. At the beginning of our relationship when I questioned her request to be paid 100% of her fee upfront and she told me that she would work hard for me until the project was complete. Fast-forward about four months and she has walked off of the job. Terrible experience.

After obtaining multiple college degrees, Melissa established this business out of her passion for interior design and her drive and will for personal success. This theme echoes throughout her personal life as well as her professional one. I used Melissa's interior design services to totally outfit my new beach townhouse at the Jersey shore, and I couldn’t recommend anyone more highly than her! She easily covers all the “A’s” of personal service - Availability, Affability, Ability, and Attitude. I was admittedly intimidated by the process but she exhibited an exorbitant  amount of patience with me throughout; from paint and color choices, to furniture selection and layout, to complex combinations to achieve a desired appearance, to smart and savvy purchasing - you just can’t go wrong with Melissa. She insists that it’s not her happiness with the final product that matters - it’s YOURS, the person who has to live and work there! I’ll definitely be counting on her knowledge and services again. Cool idea, can you share how you constructed the putting green and materials used?

A: I used a company that installs these - it's a real putting green!  I don't think they are in business any longer, unfortunately.

Can you please share where the vintage car art is from? Thank you

A: Ugh!  It was long enough ago that I don't remember for sure, but I believe I did a lot of shopping at that time on sites like Overstock.com or Art.com.  Use search criteria like "vintage car canvas art" and that should get you some good options.  Minted.com has original art as well.  I'm sorry I couldn't be more specific!

If not custom, where did you buy?

A: These were from Home Decorators Collection before they were bought by Home Depot.  Now you can buy them from there.  This is the link to all of Martha Stewart Craft collection pieces.  Happy shopping!
