> We hired Mike and the team at Adaptive to extend and renovate our Old West Side home.  It was a substantial project transforming our house from 1300 sqft to 2300 sqft and making it into a family home.  We are just days from completing the project and we have been truly impressed with Mike and his team, from the design to the implementation, management, attention to detail – we have really been impressed with both the process and the outcome.  We have genuinely enjoyed working with Mike and would recommend them wholeheartedly.  We feel the experience has been exceptional – Adaptive have been thoughtful and insightful throughout and we felt our project and our family were genuinely cared for.

> One of the biggest reasons that we chose Adaptive is that Mike spent time with us and got our vision right away.  We wanted to transform our sweet, perfect-for-a-couple house into a family home with a big open plan kitchen/dining/family space, a mudroom and storage, and new bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs.  We loved Mike’s layout and design ideas – he transformed our vague “make it a family home” concept into a layout we loved right away.

> Mike was fantastic, from start to finish.  He worked tirelessly with my wife and I (we are not the easiest people to work with), sharing his ideas, integrating them with ours, and providing a team of skilled artisans (including himself and a very skilled, reasonably priced architect),  creating and constructing the design that gave form to our thoughts and building a home that exceeded our expectations.  This was a challenging project, as it incorporated a solar energy source, radiant heat (excellent, especially for tiled floors), geothermal heating and cooling, a limestone exterior, and a basement with a rather high ceiling.  We are pleased to be able to provide the highest recommendation for Mike.

> Mike and his team did a great job with our two-story addition. Making such a big investment isn't easy, and the process of renovating while living in the house isn't easy either, Mike made the process as smooth as possible. From initial design sessions through construction we were really impressed with how the project developed. Our style of modern rustic really fit it with Adaptive's goals of green building and material reuse. They made it easy to alter the design along the way and also explain when things need to change based on a variety of factors, which can influence cost both up and down.

> Mike and his team at Adaptive Building Solutions (ABS) helped us solve a water issue in our attic.  The trick was to determine why we had moisture in our attic.  It ended up being from multiple sources (a failing exhaust fan from a bathroom, a bent piece of flashing, and a dryer vent that pushed hot air into soffits).  ABS also helped fix the water damage, which amounted to a handful of smaller projects on multiple floors of our house.  All and all, our job was complex and non-trivial---indeed, it ended up that two doors in a renovation of our house before we bought it were installed incorrectly and contributed to non-related water issues that at first blush seemed to be related.  ABS was professional, courteous, and thorough.  I highly recommend them.

> Adaptive Building Solutions helped us do a remodel on our home in 2012. They moved an  staircase, expanded a bathroom, and added a closet. We were happy with the work ABS did for us - particularly the lovely built-in woodwork (shelves, bench, etc.). His price was more competitive than others who gave us quotes and was helpful in thinking about ways to adjust the project scope to keep us in budget. He was flexible along the way as we thought of minor additional changes we wanted to make. We would recommend Mike to others.
