**★★★★★ — Ronald McCormack, Dec. 2024**

> Mt wife and I contracted with Montana heritage homes to build our home in Bigfork in 2006. Our experience with Alan and his son was top notch. Alan completed our home on time and on budget. We have had no problems with our residence due to the high quality of workmanship and materials. Our home is nineteen years old and it has appreciated almost three fold.
>
> We picked MHH to build our home since Alan is a Native born Montanan, Not a fly by night outsider who will do substandard work and then disappear after leaving a mess behind. This is a family run business, not one of those huge multi billion dollar organizations that do tens of thousand of homes and leave disaster behind. Sevaral months ago I contacted Alan with several questions about our home. Alan had the records and got back to me quickly.
> I have not received and compensation for writing this review.

**Comment from Montana Heritage Home Builders Inc:**

> Thank you, Ron, for your wonderful review. We hope you have a great New Year and day!

> I already left a review for these five star builders. They have an integrity beyond excellent not to mention their talent in creating a state of art beautiful Montana Heritage Home. I cannot express my privilege of writing a 5 star review for them. Every home they build reaches that excellence for the owners. They are in a category of their own always striving for excellence.

**Comment from Montana Heritage Home Builders Inc:**

> Thank you for your great review. We hope you have a wonderful day!

**★ — Robert Dorton, June 2023**

> The worst experience ever dealing with alan FAIR WARNING! I hope no one goes thru what my family had to go thru, we are having to finish on our own after all the mistakes his sub contractors made it cost us more. THANKS ALAN

**★★★★★ — firechick1421, Jan. 2016**

> Allen and his crew were amazing! They were professional but very personable as well! We left this build in his hands as we live in Canada and could only make it to the site a few times during the process. Each and every time we were thrilled to see the progress and felt safe in Allen's hands! We HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!

**★★★★★ — samrbracken, Dec. 2015**

> Allen Ream designed a home for my wife and I, and built it on a previously undeveloped forested lot. From design to finish, Allen and his team were professional, timely, respectful and very obliging to our changing interior and exterior choices. Allen oversaw everything from the home construction, septic and utility hook-ups, as well as final landscaping and grading around the home. My wife and I were keen on doing some of the work ourselves, and I'm thankful that Allen was so obliging to those requests, and scheduling us time and space to work on the home. The 1200 sq. ft home was ready for us to move into in just under 6 months, which seems incredible. Also of note, Allen's timeline and price estimates were almost 100% accurate upon completion, something very comforting as a homeowner. I am writing this review from our new home, which is extremely well built, warm, well designed and all we could ever have asked for. I will be contracting Allen's services again in the future, he and his team are highly recommended.

**★★★★★ — spanaway, Dec. 2015**

> This is the first house we have built from scratch. Allen could not have been more professional, helpful, and above all patient. From day one till now, about 70% complete, Allen has been extremely easy to work with. While he doesn't spoon feed us, he will give his honest opinion if he thinks we might be making a mistake. He has been very easy to contact, gets back to us immediately, posts pictures of the progress (very handy for us since we live several hours away) and answers each and every question regardless of how moronic they may be. The quality of materials and the workmanship are both top notch. He has set and maintained a tight schedule while keeping us apprised the entire time. I would recommend Allen to anyone looking for a great building experience.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Size of porch** *(in Photo Questions)*

What size is this porch ?

A: Hello, The section of the deck that is in the photo is 10 x 14.

**Q: Floor** *(in Photo Questions)*

What type of deck/floor is this?

A: The deck floor is a rough sawn fir and larch with a linseed oil finish. Thanks for the question.

**Q: Windows** *(in Photo Questions)*

Are this windows aluminum?

A: No, The windows are vinyl

**Q: Old gloomy basement ideas?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi - we are moving into a house with a finished, good size, but no frills basement from the mid 1960's. Linoleum tile (no asbestos), light paneled walls etc.
We want to turn it into a playroom or at least a play area, but are on an incredibly small budget. We don't want to put down wall to wall carpet because there have been flooding issues down there in the past.
Does anyone have some low budget ideas for warming up the space and making it better for kids?
We're looking for cheap flooring options (we have a bunch of remnants but they are all awkward sizes), and just ways to make it look less dingy and gloomy!

A: Your very welcome!
