> I just can't say enough about how much we love Denise's work.  We had an old, outdated, (Bricker Homes) kitchen and knew that we needed to upgrade.  My wife is an amazing chef/baker and we wanted her to have the space and means to cook on a larger scale.  We knew what we liked, but had no idea on how to bring it all together.  This is where Denise excels; she came over, listened to our likes/dislikes as well as what overall look we were going for.  She worked diligently to come up with vision board with multiple choices/colors for what we wanted.  As most remodels do, the project crept into the main living area.  She took that in stride and recommended paint colors, flooring, and furniture ideas. Our home is now amazing, and for no other reason that Denise's impeccable taste, eye for finishes and overall amazing "can-do" attitude.  If anyone needs a Interior Decorator/Designer, look no further.  Thank you very much for all that you have done to make our home amazing,

  - Description: The homeowners asked for a larger shower but also keep the tub. The wall next to the vanity was structural and could not be removed. I had the idea to move the door to the bathroom to the left in order to allow for a wet room concept. By removing the wall where the toilet was, I was able to enlarge the vanity area. They wanted the feel of the outdoors in and so we used natural materials that are also functional and low maintenance. The result is stunning!

**Q: Need advice for front hallway tile** *(in Remodeling)*

Replacing front hallway tile. Either 24 x 24 or 12x24. Trying to decide between a concrete look tile or a dark grey slate. Any advice or suggestions welcome!

A: From the photo your house looks fairly traditional. Of the three choices I like the third one best. It has a natural stone look and a warmer vibe.

**Q: window treatment on window help!** *(in Home Decorating)*

We need window treatments in my office. The person helping us pick fabric suggested a Roman shade behind my desk and panels on front window (facing front of house). I am having a hard time envisioning this. I really like symmetry and feel like it will be weird to have 2 different types of window treatments in one small room. Thoughts?!

A: I would do roller shades on both windows. They take up less space than roman shades and block less of the window than curtains.

**Q: Which color wooden bathroom vanity to go with this tile?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

So I found a tile I like for my guest bathroom with no window. So natural light.  What wooden vanity to use and what accessories for bathdoors, sink faucet, vanity hardware and wall paint
, etc.

A: Beautiful tile! I think a light rift sawn oak vanity would add warmth or white. I’d do black or chrome hardware depending on what style you’re after. Paint the walls light since there is no natural light. You could bring in some of that orange or gray in your accessories.

**Q: Kitchen Backsplash Do or Don't** *(in Home Decorating)*

We'll be replacing our countertops and backsplash soon. Is tiling around the kitchen window up to the ceiling still a thing or has that style run its course?

**Q: design advice for living room** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Wanting to re-tile the fireplace in a more current design and warmer tones. Should I also change fireplace insert? The rug is on order and photo is not the rug in my room. Rug will be 10x13.

A: I know how daunting it is to do a whole house and make sure everything is cohesive. I would reface the fireplace in a neutral stone so if you ever want to repaint the walls you’re not tied to a particular color scheme. I like the suggestion of painting the firebox black but I would keep the hearth stone. I refaced my fireplace in limestone and it’s very neutral. I can mix in many different colors and nothing clashes. Good luck!

**Q: What is the backsplash?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I would like to know the material of the backsplash.

A: It says in the article it’s a hand plastered concrete look wall.
