I contacted Cambridge and they came out cleaned it and these guys take pride in their product so even thought I didn't have a perfect start I now have a beautiful patio and walkway. They started our project and then ran out of material so we had to wait for several weeks before our driveway could be finished. The installers started at the ends and then filled the middle of the driveway in with the additional pavers that were on back order. The whole middle of the driveway has white lime coming out of the bricks. It looks horrendous. I was told that it would fade. It has been 3 years. I don’t believe the lime is fading at all, only getting worse. We had someone come to professionally clean the pavers and the lime is still visible, no improvement at all. We have Nicoloc installed around the pool 20 years ago and have had no issues. Tried contacting Cambridge, did receive a response and was told the Long Island rep would be in contact with us and we have never heard from him. We contacted Cambridge again and we received the same response, still 4 months later, no contact. They are stained with water and embedded with dirt that will not come out. This is the second full summer and they look 20 years old. We called the contractor to complain and he said we didn’t take care of them. We wash them down every day weather permitting. We have not bbq’d or sat out all summer due to the extreme heat but we’re accused of spilling oil … you’ll notice in pictures water stains resemble round oil stains that I read someone else mentioned in another review. Contractor agreed to clean it once and I’ll see if stains come out to have it sealed. Horrible product! It’s beautiful!. However, as soon as our dogs walked on it with dirty paws, it was dirty. And could not be cleansed The dirt was a not removable the concrete absorbs the dirt, despite pressure washing, scrubbing with a bristle brush and soap. Half of the pavers he could not use because of the quality was so poor and that half were broken. The coping totally jagged, uneven edges . And the pavers have spotting from the separation white plastic pieces, white lines and Scratches In my experience it’s the worst!! People would not continue repurchasing from the same manufacturer year after year unless they are satisfied with the product. Hundreds of distributors would not carry our line exclusively if they did not believe in our product, and the same goes for our loyal contractors who only recommend our brand to new and existing customers. Therefore, we do not view this as a one-and-done relationship with our customers. My husband and I were warned by numerous contractors who gave us estimates to not use Cambridge for our patio as the quality is not what it used to be. Unfortunately we did not listen because I had my heart set on the bluestone blend XL paver. We spent $25,000 to have a patio installed in our yard using those exact pavers. I was so excited when it was done especially for the fact that I had waited years to finally be able to have this project done and be able to enjoy my yard. To my disappointment within a month of installation our patio had a large area of 22 pavers total that seemed to be forever wet and almost looked stained by oil. We were beyond confused as to what could cause this. We called back our contractor and he had never seen this before. I contacted Cambridge and they were no help at all. They responded with a generic complaint form to fill out that required me answer a ridiculous amount of questions which clearly would lead to them blaming the contractor. I never responded, with frustration I figured I would have to replace those damaged pavers and eat the loss. Fast forward to the next summer I now see new wet spots coming up in areas nowhere near the original damage. I decided not to replace any because at this rate I would need to replace my entire patio if this is just going to continue to happen. We reached out to the distributor who sent out a Cambridge representative immediately. It seems that his go to answer was that it’s a drainage issue and blaming the installation. Now reading other negative reviews I see this is just their go to answer instead of standing by their product which is clearly defective. “Cambridge paving stone with armor tech they’ll always look like new” more like you won’t even get a month much less a lifetime. Do yourself a favor a listen to the reviews unlike what I did. **Comment from Cambridge Pavingstones with ArmorTec:** > We have been manufacturing and selling our pavingstones since 1994. If you look at those numbers that way- the number of “bad reviews or complaints” would be less than 0.0001%. Over the years, we have learned you cannot make everyone happy. Majority of the issues with pavingstones stem for homeowners not understanding what efflorescence is, installation issues with polymeric sand, power washing of the pavers and etching the surface & heavy salt use. The reason we ask you to fill out a questionnaire with an average amount of questions is that we know the circumstances in regards to installation. This is not to "blame" anyone but to simply educate you on why this might be happening. **★ — Tracy H, March 2022** > Did Cambridge honor their warranty with any of you who had issues with your pavers? We just had a $17,000 patio professionally installed in August. It was absolutely gorgeous and we were thrilled. Within a few weeks we noticed that it always had "wet spots" on it and it got worse and worse and now it literally looks atrocious. It looks like someone took olive oil and poured it all over the patio and walkway. I realize the white is efflorescence and that happens sometimes, it's the "Oil" looking spots that are covering the entire patio and walkway that it ridiculous and unacceptable. I emailed Cambridge a few months after installation and they immediately blamed the contractor and now after reading this post, I have bad feeling that this is what they do and that they won't stand behind their product. I waited for months for it to "dry out" and we now know that it never will and the pavers are obviously defective. Just wondering if anyone received a positive outcome when dealing with them. Thanks. **★ — Toniann McKay, Sept. 2021** > I've shared some pictures a few years ago of the horrible looking efflorescence on our retaining wall. There was a response from Cambridge saying something about the lack of clean stone and drainage behind the wall. Also that there was no filter fabric and the dirt was washing through staining the wall. They were incorrect. The wall was done exactly the way they recommend. If you notice the picture with the 2 columns in front of the fire pit you see the stains on them as well. FYI, they are hollow inside so it would be impossible to have anything washing through. To add insult to injury now our driveway pavers are beginning to crack and chip all around. We NEVER use salt on the pavers and only cars are parked on the driveway! I'm sure they'll be an excuse for that as well.
