They came out and quoted me a price, but wanted to pull a permit first, no problem I said. > > Before they pulled the permit, the went ahead and ordered the supplies for the deck. They were then unable to pull the permit and build the deck exactly how I wanted it (with footers). They offered me a solution that would not have looked well aesthetically and was not what I agreed to so I declined the less that optimal option. > > At this point, they could have done the right thing and used my supplies for another project (I was told my supplies were the most common ones ordered by their project manager). Instead... > > They then demaded that I pay for the restocking of the supplies they had ordered BEFORE they pulled the permit. Would you go to the grocery store and buy ingredients for a meal that you don't have the equipment to cook? Then why would you order supplies to build a deck that you don't have a permit to build? > > When I told them I wasn't paying for the supplies, they threatened me with a letter from the city and coerced me to take down my original post.
