> From the initial interview until the final inspection of our Beacon-designed home, we were delighted to work with Chris.  He listened to what we wanted and produced it, while overcoming some challenges along the way.  We didn't want a typical beach house, we wanted something unique.  Our land is in the middle of the marsh on the Roanoke Sound and we had a centuries old live oak tree that we wanted to protect.  Chris used every square foot of dry land to get us as close as possible to the water and saved the tree!

> We wanted a shingle style house with a twist and Chris was full of creative ideas that translated to a house that looks traditional but has many modern elements inside.  We wanted our house to blend into the setting and he was able to make that happen too.  At every step he gave us creative ideas and sound guidance.  Our house is very well engineered and structurally will withstand the unavoidable elements of the site, especially flooding and high winds.

> When my retail store burned down, Beacon came highly recommended to me by a friend.  From their first visit to the site to the final inspection of a brand new building, they exceeded my expectations!  The architects were easy to work with and they truly listened to my needs and wishes, with a keen eye on budget.  They stood by me throughout the entire design, permit, build, and inspect process, and the results were outstanding!  I am constantly receiving compliments on the new store, and...most importantly...sales are up!

**Q: Where did you get your round windows?** *(in Photo Questions)*

We are building and have not found them with this particular grid pattern

A: Hi izatt, the windows are Andersen, they are stock size and the grill pattern is a stock pattern for them called "Renaissance", check under the specialty windows section for circles and ovals with this grill. Hope this helps.

**Q: upper cabinets love the finish-are they natural maple?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Yes, they are natural Maple.

A: Yes, I believe that is correct.

**Q: I love the chandelier you used.  Can you possibly tell me whre you found it?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: @trudik1, this home was part of an Extreme Home Makeover (the TV Show) and as such a lot of the decorative items were donated by local artisans, including this antler chandelier.
However we have spotted a similar chandelier at Restoration Hardware (website & stores throughout the country), which is made of a resin that is cast from naturally shed antlers.

A: @stephanieflo, Thanks. We love it too. The color is called Jade Green.

**Q: Need help with my foyer!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I feel like my foyer needs "something".  There are so many doorways and very little wall space.  I also hate to cover up the beautiful chevron design in the floor too much.  Any suggestions?

A: I would recommend a small round table placed under the light fixture. Something with a nice or interesting base, so that if your eyes notice the floor you're not distracted by an ugly table base. Add a nice vase with some fresh flowers or some interesting twigs (no faux flowers , though).  
 Take a look at Restoration Hardware or Arhaus "Weston Bistro Table" with it's factory style base.
