> I have worked with Behal, Sampson Dietz on several projects, well over 1 million dollars.
> They believe in a team effort, and strongly believe the most successful projects are a result of collaboration.
> They have no ego, and provide constant, and superior service to their clients.

> I have always been hesitant to do a big remodel but finally did it after finding a home in Grandview that was the location we desired . With the help of Behal Sampson Dietz our 8 month renovation was a breeze and surprising to me, it was fun! They are so professional and have great ideas. They are open to the clients needs and seem to have a real sense of what you want....before you even know it yourself!!. I loved having the architects and construction all done by the same firm. They are so attentive to the smallest details. The subs they use are easy to have in your home, very professional and are amazing craftsmen. They are wonderful on followup at the end of the job. I LOVE my new home and it is totally because of the fine job they did. I would definitely hire them again!

**★★★★★ — Mimi Taylor, Aug. 2012**

> Listened to what I wanted, needed and expected. They were respectful of my budget and design concerns--from the architect to the craftsmen and sub-contractors. Well done and we continue to be happy with their work.

  - Description: This 1920s Tudor Revival home underwent a number of renovation projects over the years, resulting in an awkward, uncoordinated design. BSD’s major renovation of the house brought interior and exterior details together in a design that is respectful of the original era of the home and gracious for large- and small-scale entertaining by a university president. The dramatic great hall now has leaded bay windows all around, wood detailing to compliment the original home and ceiling finishes that are…

  - Description: This 1909 historic home is a unique combination of Craftsman and Mission design styles. It is located on a gracefully tiered lot with a landmark garden designed by renown landscape architects, the Olmsted Brothers. Over the years, uncoordinated remodeling projects plus a lack of serious attention to the integrity of the original house created the need for a comprehensive renovation. The original details of the house, including a rediscovered inglenook (covered in the 1960s), inspired the owners…

  - Description: Located in a beautiful wooded ravine in Upper Arlington, this project is unique for it’s location as well as for the home itself. The original house was designed by famed Columbus architect Byron Ireland in 1962 as his personal residence. The 60’s style architecture of the home complimented the new owner’s love of mid-century modern and inspired the project’s updated direction. The floor plan was opened to adapt to the lifestyle of an active young family. By implementing a clean, modern approach…

  - Description: Tucked onto a small, sloping ravine lot in Upper Arlington, this new stone-and-slate house was designed to appear as if the trees had grown up around it over the years. The elegant, enclosed entrance hall leads to a surprisingly open first floor, with a warm and inviting kitchen at its center. The kitchen has furniture-finished cabinets and brushed-granite countertops and is surrounded by an intimate eating and cozy fireplace area on one side and a larger living and dining space on the other. - Description: This historic Upper Arlington home was stately but too small for the needs of the new owners. The house had been well restored but never adapted to modern family life. Two brick wings were designed to balance the symmetrical front façade, creating an open breakfast room, kitchen and family room zone on one end of the house and a more private den on the other end. On the second floor, the 1 3/4-story additions allowed for an expanded child’s bedroom area on one end and an expanded master suite on…

  - Description: This New Albany Farms home was designed to look at home on its fifteen-acre “farm” site. The central section of this Georgian house appears as a historic structure that was added onto over many years. The mostly brick composition evolves into less formal “additions,” and ultimately, into a board-and-batten garage and barn. The large, main living space is anchored by a handsome, built-in cabinet (with television) at one end and the kitchen at the other end. A series of south-facing French doors a…

  - Description: This stunning penthouse was designed to create a series of expanding views. The long entrance gallery features a series of paintings highlighted by state-of-the-art lighting. The gallery leads to the main living-dining space, where one encounters a dramatic, long view of downtown Columbus. Follow the tile wall of the contemporary fireplace and enter a cozy den, surprisingly nested in a corner of glass. An office with pocketing, shoji-inspired contemporary doors borrows light from the clerestory…

  - Description: All rooms on all floors in this 1920s Colonial Revival home were reconsidered in this extensive, fine-tuned renovation. Removal of an entire chimney mass made the open and airy design possible. The large kitchen and dining space is the center of the new, open design. A living room and family room extend from either end of the central gathering space. The spacious, white Carrara marble bath was added to create a comfortable master suite. An upstairs television room was designed for evening relaxa…

  - Description: This German Village home was renovated and added to in the 1980s, however new owners working with BSD saw a more open, flexible and crisp design for the house. Relocating the powder room and coat closet near the garage entrance allowed the kitchen and dining spaces to be combined and provided enough extra room for an adjoining media area. The great room mantle was redesigned, allowing book and storage space and more refined woodworking. Stair details were simplified to create a clean, modern aes…

  - Description: This renovation project focused on the joining of two adjacent cottages in the historic German Village neighborhood of Columbus. Combining two 19th century cottages into one 21st century home posed a number of challenges and opportunities. One opportunity was to be able to take nearly 3/4 of the first floor of one of the cottages and devote it to the kitchen. This abundant space allowed for a cooking area, a long island and an adjacent beverage area. However, the big surprise is the wall of cabi…

  - Description: This coastal, shingle-style weekend home was designed to take advantage of picturesque water views from the North Fork of Long Island. The home has a highly functional mix of cozy spaces and openness. The open kitchen, dining and living room spaces run the length of the house, with openings to the pool deck at one end and a screened porch at the other. The bedrooms are tucked in under shaped ceilings. Dormers and second story porches give the house character, as well as provide choices for toget…
