In other words, while we thought we knew what we wanted before we consulted with Anna-Marie, we could not have truly understood and appreciated what we wanted, and what was available, without Anna-Marie transforming . Working with Anna-Marie was an absolute joy, and we are so thrilled with the results. Initially we thought we wanted something more contemporary, and Anna-Marie guided us to what she calls California casual, that is at once very detailed and sophisticated, while also being soothing, inviting, and kid & pet friendly. These cabinets were custom-made with an oak veneer, and stained with a stain color so custom we only had a couple of jars made - it can't be recreated, although a designer can work with the cabinet maker to get to the correct finish. A: Thanks for your question - these are actual just vertically placed pieces of timber on smooth exterior cladding to give a decorative look to the side of the home. The spacing varies depending on the width of the area they are on so that it all looks well-proportioned and symmetrical.
