It's busy and doesn't seem to match. I'm not sure what my options are though. It hasn't been grouted yet but it was put up with mortar, so I imagine taking it down would be a huge cost. Any advice? A: I really like this combination of granite and marble backsplash tile! I've used similar combinations in the past; you can see some of these on my Houzz Pro Profile. The contrast of texture and pattern is really nice! I think once your hood goes in it will help cut down the "busy" look you referred to. **Q: what should I put for kitchen backsplash** *(in Design Dilemma)* I would like have second ideas what to put for kitchen backsplash. Kitchen floor is light gray and wall is light grey. Count top is quatz (carrara mable looking). Cabinets are white(shake style). I am thinking of using same stock floor light grey porcelain tiles but different size (6X24) to achieve the brick looking. Is it too boring? Too much gray? Here is the picture A: Let me suggest that you don't use floor tile for a backsplash, and it would help a lot to use a different texture and pattern than the quartz and floor tiles you have chosen. For example you could use a smaller marble tile in a herringbone pattern or even brick lay like you mentioned. A: It would really help to remove the mirrored backsplash and then emphasize the gold/brass accent with some updated hardware. A: I haven't been able to identify this exact paper, but you might be interested in some of the geometric designs in Candice Olson's wallpaper line... here **Q: snowfall white or simply white ?afraid simply white too yellow** *(in Design Dilemma)* looking for a warm creamy white. is painting trim semi, walls eggshell, ceiling flat all one color a mistake ? A: hppy, You may have done this already, but I would strongly suggest putting samples of each color on each wall of your space to see how it looks and how the light affects it. And I think if you are going for a white space, then go for it! :) You can always add color with your art, furniture and textiles; and you can always repaint if you ever tire of all white.
