> The creative team at Johnson Squared made our new home project a joy.  The conceptual phase began in November 2014 with an interview in which we shared images of existing homes that appealed to us.  Through the six-month discovery process that followed, they took stock of our desire for energy efficiency, modern aesthetic, open entertaining space, and single-level living.  It felt like a collaboration of interested parties, not a tutorial on what we "should have" nor a collection of sycophants who blindly follow a design request without identifying potential pitfalls.  We felt safe and cared for.

**Q: Type of wood, etc?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi, I would love to do a wood wall like this in our living room. Curious if you can tell me what type of wood this is, whether it was stained, or any other details you're willing to share ? It's lovely. Thank you.

A: Hello. This wall and cabinet were created with teak veneered plywood panels and a series of 1/4" reveals between each panel.  A durable clear coat was applied to protect and enhance the teak.  A custom cabinet builder would be able to work through something like this with you.  Thank you for your comments.

A: Hello, thank you for your comments.  These are 1 x 3 cedar battens located @ 16" on center, on full sheets of cedar faced plywood.

**Q: Beautiful!  Could you tell us what the flooring is?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hello, this flooring was made from solid 3-1/4" white oak select boards that were installed, sanded in place, and stained with a rich chocolate/coffee color stain.  The floor is dark but the grain and some of the lighter tones of the white oak still show through.

Can you tell me more about the flooring? concrete?

A: Hello.  This floor is a finished concrete topping slab with integrated hydronic radiant heat.  The color is an integral admixture and the finished slab has been ground, polished, and sealed.

A: Hi Julie.  This was a custom built-in and was fabricated and installed by a local custom cabinet builder.

The handheld shower is remarkably slim and subtle.  Would you share the manufacturer/source?

A: Thank you for your comments.  This shower turned out so minimal and beautiful.   The handheld shower is a combination of the Lacava "Cigno" hand shower and the "Cigno" water intake/hook.  You can find more info on Lacava's website here:
