As an award-winning kitchen and bath designer, I not only incorporate your individual style and ideas, but create solutions that will surprise, delight and exceed your expectations.

Being a lifelong cook, I enjoy the challenge of making a beautiful and functional kitchen, using creative space planning, technical knowledge and artful cabinetry design. I bring that same expertise to space and cabinetry design throughout the home.

I partner with general contractors whom I’ve worked with in the past who are organized, respectful and do quality work. Whenever possible, I provide the cabinetry and countertops to insure quality workmanship and design integrity. Or if you have a contractor you trust and like working with, I can provide design only or meet with them as needed during construction. > Liz schupanitz helped me create a dream bathroom. It won first prize and editors choice awards for 2019. See the November/December issue of Midwest Home. She was a pleasure to work with. The work was completed in early 2019.

**Comment from Liz Schupanitz Designs:**

> Thanks Joline,
> I enjoyed working with you and was so pleased with the outcome. Seeing the Rosa Portogallo countertop for the first time was one of my favorite moments...that and the mini-brick portogallo floor!

> After living in our 1960s house for almost 8 years, we finally decided it was time to update our kitchen. We found Liz after seeing her work on some other projects and on Houzz.com. We were very excited to work with her. Liz was diligent, extememly knowledgeable and paid great attention to detail. She met with us, got to know our family and thought about our needs as a family with three kids. She gave me many designs to choose from and we worked together to come up with the perfect plan. She designed an elegant, beautiful yet extremely functional kitchen that makes cooking and entertaining enjoyable! And even better, she helped me with a mudroom addition. After seeing how the entry came right into the kitchen from a snowy MN yard, she redesigned the entry which comes straight into a beautiful, light and airy mudroom! We are in love! I highly recommend Liz!

**Comment from Liz Schupanitz Designs:**

> Thank you Beth! I enjoyed working with you on your kitchen and mudroom.

**★★★★★ — Janne Egeland, Sept. 2019**

> I have worked with Liz on several project for two of our homes. She is excellent! Fun to work with and her design ideas and skills are superior. Can't recommend her highly enough. Best kitchen and bath designer out there!

**Comment from Liz Schupanitz Designs:**

> Thanks Janne! I always enjoy working with you on your beautiful homes!

**★★★★★ — Susan Kaskel, Aug. 2019**

> Liz designed our master bedroom/bathroom remodel bringing this space current from its 1957 original pink and brown tile. Liz designed the custom built walnut vanity topped with marble to appear as if it were a piece of furniture. She understood our desire for something modern but classic. She has access to great quality tile and created a beautiful mosaic on one wall of the shower, while still maintaining the modern look we were after. Her selections for lighting and fixtures were spot on and always had solutions when costs were an issue. She interacted professionally with our contractors. We couldn't have done it without her.

**Comment from Liz Schupanitz Designs:**

> Thanks Susan, I thoroughly enjoyed working with you to design your bathroom/bedroom space and am thrilled with how it turned out!

**★★★★★ — Judy Brink, Aug. 2019**

> Kitchen and small bath design.
> We did a lot of research to find a great designer to create a remodel plan for our kitchen and 1/2 bath. We found many recommendations around the Twin Cities area about Liz and her company. She was the first call we made...and the last.
>
> Right from the start, she clearly had worked on all levels of complex projects, from small to large.
>
> She did a remarkable design. She then sourced the counters, light fixtures, sinks, toilets, faucets, paint colors for cabinet, walls, hardware and fabric selection. She solved our counter top search problem with her knowledge of unique, affordable vendor sources.
>
> Lastly she is smart, efficient, talented and takes no guff from the contractors!
>
> I recently had a group of my girlfriends at our house and the compliments about the tile, paint, wallpaper and fixtures were endless! Will work with her again!

**Comment from Liz Schupanitz Designs:**

> Thanks Judy - it was fun getting to know you and your husband. Your lovely home was a joy to work on!

**★★★★★ — Steve Kotvis, Dec. 2018**

> Working with Liz was one of the best decisions among the thousands of decisions made on these two projects, remodeling of a master bathroom and a guest bathroom.
>
> Our vision was quickly shared. Her creativity exposed me to so many options that I could never have imagined. Her collaborative work style created a synergy that was open to possibilities throughout the project. Her sense of space, color, balance, materials and products pulled everything together, creating two wonderful rooms, each unique on their own, yet connected to one another and wonderfully integrated in the overall design of the whole house.
>
> From fixtures for plumbing to lighting, from tile textures on walls and floors to wall paint selections, from wood cabinet design to selection of countertops, from use of natural light to task lighting, these two rooms were wonderfully transformed. The rooms serve the functional utility of bathrooms, within the context of places that offer a sense of comfort, calm and peacefulness.
>
> I would recommend Liz to anyone open to the possibilities of transforming their rooms into places where they want to enjoy life's moments.

**★★★★★ — Ann Johnston, Feb. 2018**

> I selected Liz based on photos that I found of her previous work. She pushed me to think outside of my ideal ‘white kitchen’ box.
> Liz demonstrated her creativity through varied mockups that blended my taste with her design expertise.
> Liz’s knowledge and experience made it easy for me to trust her opinion in design suggestions that brought touches of color and character to the final design. She is conscientious of costs associated with design changes and made sure to consult before finalizing the adjustments.
>
> Her demeanor makes her a joy to work with. Liz is patient and encouraged me to get involved in the design process— to the point of testing a variety of appliances to find the perfect fit for me.
>
> I still cannot believe that I get to use my beautiful custom kitchen every day! All thanks to my wonderful kitchen re-design experience with Liz Schupanitz.

**★★★★★ — Claire Orenstein, Sept. 2017**

> When starting a total full bathroom remodel I depended on Liz to advise me on various aspects of this project. I love to plan and shop for projects like this but I also know that the completed bathroom will be above and beyond what I originally expected if I spend the extra money for an expert in the field such as Liz . I contracted with her on a hourly rate to assist me through the maze of finding floor tile, wall tile, fixtures, sink, cabinet design and an incredible Kohler shower door that we love! Her ability in pushing out the ideas that are not so great was incredibly helpful to pull the whole design together into a fantastic bathroom project.I would highly recommend Liz as a consultant or to do the whole project. You will not be disappointed!

**Comment from Liz Schupanitz Designs:**

> Thanks so much Claire. You were a great shopper and so willing to search for just the right selections. Just a little guidance can go a long way and saves money in the long run!

**★★★★★ — Frances Lyon-Dugin, July 2017**

> Liz was a conscientious, knowledgeable and creative partner in our condo kitchen project. We worked on a contract basis for the design, and she also assisted in choosing flooring, tile, cabinetry and appliances. We have a small space and wanted to do minimal wall movement, but change the traffic and work flow; she was amazing with the design to accomplish that. She did tremendous research on all aspects of the project that were unique and challenging, such as selecting an attractive hood that would fit our space. She was very conscious of our budget and kept us up to date with where we were with deadlines and billing. Our neighbors are totally "wowed" by our project and so are we!!!

**Comment from Liz Schupanitz Designs:**

> Thanks Fran! It was a pleasure working with you on your kitchen!

**★★★★★ — Janet C, Aug. 2016**

> I had the good fortune to work with Liz on our kitchen remodel. In addition to being a very talented designer, Liz was very fun to work with. She took all the stress out of making decisions and she did a wonderful job designing a kitchen that is both beautiful and functional. Her taste is impeccable. Now I want to be in my kitchen all the time cooking beautiful, healthy and delicious food for my friends and family.

**★★★★★ — Jan Lundgren, July 2016**

> From our first meeting to the final walk through Liz was extremely professional and very detailed. Her knowledge of the products in the industry are vast. With a kind heart she guided me through the whole process. She is great!!!

**Comment from Liz Schupanitz Designs:**

> Thank you Jan! I enjoyed working with your on your kitchen.

**★★★★★ — alekhyaf, Dec. 2015**

> We hired Liz for two projects - one was for a built in buffet in the dining room of our home and the 2nd one was for a design of 2nd floor build-up for a master suite.
> She is extremely detail oriented, very friendly, focuses on your needs and then overlays her expertise in designing functional beautiful masterpiece. She treats the project as if the house is her own and worries about every little detail until it fits right. She coordinated with the cabinetry firm seamlessly; her involvement in projects are the only times when I don't need to be in the middle of it as she thinks for us (the clients) constantly. She ensures that the dollars are well spent.
> Our house is a 1921 center hall Colonial - the best compliments that we received are -- when several of our close friends, who visit regularly, saw the buffet and said "was this always there?" and "no one would know that this was built in 2014-2015".....that's the kind of expert Liz is!
> We are glad to know her and will involve her in all our future projects.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Light fixture** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi. Can you provide details on the light fixture please. Thank you!

A: The light fixture is from Circa Lighting and is called the Riverside Square Lantern. It comes in several sizes. I don't remember the size and can't find my folder that has the information so I recommend getting advice for the correct size from the store that you buy it from. It's a pretty light fixture but is expensive. A less expensive alternative would be the Darlana Lantern shown on the same page of the link I'm copying. I'm sorry it took so long getting back to you.
Thanks and good luck!
Liz

**Q: Butterfly prints- where can purchase?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the butterfly prints in the adjacent room. Where can I purchase? Thank you.

A: I don't have that information so unfortunately can't help you.

**Q: what did they do with the old table area?** *(in Photo Questions)*

We have a very similar older kitchen layout and size and want to remodel with a larger island too - what did they do with their old kitchen table area ?

A: Hello Anne,
If I recall correctly, the kitchen stayed within the foot print of the existing one and there was most likely enough room for the table. I'm attaching my profile on Houzz with the photos of the finished kitchen. I'll look at the floor plans to jog my memory on the dining area and get back to you.
Thanks,
Liz Schupanitz

**Q: what is the color and manufacture of the paint color on the cabinets?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Kitchen cabinet paint color? Very nice!

A: I found the color! It is Benjamin Moore Simply White OC-117.

**Q: do you have the dimensions of walk ways around the island ?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Trying to get some scope for my remodel I’m doing!

A: I'll have to take a look at the drawing and get back to you with the measurements.

**Q: wood floor plank width** *(in Photo Questions)*

Beautiful work. What is the width of the wooden floor planks ?

A: You are welcome. I think the 4" would work too.
