> It is difficult to rate this design-build group due to a very mixed experience. The principal is honest and easy to work with. Some of their employees are true craftsman. At the time these included the cabinet maker and the metal fabricator. They certainly know mid-century modern. Unfortunately, some of the critical work was sloppy or faulty. This included the painting, plumbing, and most unfortunately, the roof. I have plumbing and roof leaks. They did a great job building up a new roof insulation system, but then did a horrible roof installation with gaps, wrinkles, and misalignments in the material. The principal did not inspect work unless asked.

> The quality of the work is first rate and they were very creative in coming up with solutions and materials that kept us within budget and allowed us to splurge on the items we prioritized. They continually kept us up to date on status of budget. They were also flexible in working with us as we greatly expanded the scope of the project in mid-stream. We had one issue where a plumber accidentally knocked loose the water hose to our humidifier, causing some minor flooding in our basement. Jerad was excellent about coming over on no notice to help us with recovery and he took care of all mitigation costs. The one frustration we had was with the timeline. Weather didn't cooperate with us, but even without those delays they were too optimistic about the schedule. We have more work to do and definitely plan on using them again.

> Despite our project being altered from a large scale renovation/re-imagining of our home to one of about 50% of the scope of the original plan, StudioBuild remained engaged with our project and turned out spaces we're happy with and work of a very good quality.  Their custom woodwork, in particular, is exceptional.  Our project came in virtually precisely on budget, and while it was completed a little later than originally forecast, some of that delay was created in an effort to keep areas of our home usable for as long as possible, rather than tearing everything out at once.  In the end, it was a compromise we were happy with.

are these tiles? or a wall panel? please provide source for wood 3D look backsplash.

A: this was custom made out of walnut hardwood. each piece was individually cut and then nailed to a plywood backer.

A: we use a tinted conversion varnish for the color but most everything is 20 sheen.
