His contractors have been with him for many years. This is rare in the industry. Jarred was on our site daily and is exceptional. He kept the project running smoothly, knew every detail and square inch of our home. Shari was amazing with communication, design choices, billing, ordering, and keeping Travis in order (haha). Dustin is an outstanding craftsman who built many beautiful custom bookcases, desks, and tables in our home that we get compliments on continuously. Corey, Dave and Mason were also wonderful to work with that are highly professional, skilled, and have an exceptional eye for detail. > 6\) Travis is a straight shooter. He will ALWAYS give an honest opinion. He does not gaslight. He does not placate the home owners. We appreciate this. > 7\) He is the most honest builder we have ever worked with. All the books are open. He is very upfront, organized and transparent. Any time we had a cost question, he was happy to explain and had documentation presented quickly. > 8\) Travis is EXTREMELY ACCESSIBLE. His follow up care is remarkable. Ketron Custom Builders built our home 1.5 years ago and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. There are many reasons why we would recommend KCB to anyone and everyone and here are a few reasons: > 1\) Regarding the Budget: Travis was not just realistic on the build costs, he was also able to stay on budget throughout the build. Several of our friends who had also built their homes & used other builders had large and unexpected expenses to pay for at the end. > 2\) Our project was larger than the norm and complex. It was not just a simple home build, but also required a tear down of the original home on the property, removal of a septic system and a water well, then needing a conversion to city utilities. This was while on a remote part of land far off the street. This required a tremendous amount of planning, permits, & organization. Travis was able to manage this huge project with ease. > 3\) EXTREMELY CLEAN BUILD SITE. KCB was courteous to our neighbors and the environment regarding cleanliness of the exterior worksite. He made sure the construction debris was always picked up, and made sure our shared driveway with the neighbors remained clean. The interior worksite was always clean and organized. The crew shop vacuumed and organized the worksite at the end of each day. Even our Interior Designer who works closely with other builders marveled about the pristine nature of the work site compared to her other projects. > 4\) BOUTIQUE BUILDER. Travis takes on very few builds at once. This is rare in the industry. He does not have coinciding new builds running at the same time. This leads to his utmost attention and efficiency being devoted to the build. There is a GC on site EVERY DAY. There is no work being done by subs unsupervised. They treated our build and property as if it were their personal home. Travis is also very hands on. He was seen countless times getting his hands dirty alongside his team to ensure quality. I have seen many builders in our area who don’t look like they have ever been muddy a day in their life. > 5\) Travis has a very dedicated team that has little to no turnover. These guys did a fantastic job completely redoing my staircase and flooring in a beautiful solid white oak, sand in place, with each board cut to specific length thereby leaving ZERO seams. And with a custom applied finish the result gives a bleached oak appearance. Very modern. They also updated all of the trim in my house in a custom format lending a contemporary design detail to an industrial townhouse in the short north. This work has elevated my home in aesthetic and it couldn't have turned out better. We found all of that plus more with Ketron Custom Builders. We hired Ketron to convert our unfinished attic space into a master suite. The scope of the project involved challenges unique to a Victorian home that Ketron managed with skill and attention to detail. All members of the team are knowledgeable craftsmen that share a commitment to quality. From the basics to the finishing touches, they helped us to make design decisions that would create the space we wanted. Early on in the contractor interview process, it was clear that this company was different. In fact, they were hired after only a few short meetings. Especially attractive was the fact that they possessed the ability to complete the design as well as the material and appliance selections in-house. Not to mention the experience and no-nonsense attitude of the husband and wife ownership team. The project was completed ahead of schedule and would have been even more so if not for a delay in shipment of one of the materials used! Ketron personnel are extremely professional, courteous and its evident in their work how much pride is flowing through it. They use what they call a "lead carpenter" who doubles as the site supervisor who is responsible for the home when work is going on. The level of comfort we felt with this arrangement was second to none. Although we did not need to vacate the premises during construction, often we were unable to be onsite due to other obligations. We necessarily had to put a high level of trust into whomever we chose as the contractor and Ketron did not disappoint. Simply put, Ketron is synonymous with trust. It truly was both rewarding and fun to arrive home in the evening to find the project changing on a daily basis as it progressed toward its completion while never having to worry about who or what was going on at the house!!! The final result of the project was better than we could've imagined. We still cannot believe the attention to detail and quality workmanship that was used. The end of the project was almost bitter sweet as we felt like we wanted the relationship to continue. How many times have you felt that way about a service provider?? In fact, we almost immediately began to consider what the next Ketron project would be in our home!!! **★★★★★ — dhothers, Jan. 2014** > Ketron Custom Builders did a complete renovation of our kitchen including custom cabinets by Cooley, granite countertops, a relocated island, a new lighting package, rerouted heating and electrical systems and flooring. The quality of their work was excellent. Travis and Shari Ketron were most helpful in the design and selection process. The lead carpenter Jarred Wilson did superb work himself and was also a conscientious supervisor of the sub-contractors. The beams over the posts are at 8' and the ceiling peak is at 12'. **Q: why the step up ?** *(in Photo Questions)* Why is the washer elevated off the floor? Wouldn’t that make the dryer that much harder to reach the controls? A: We had to elevate the units to enable the water and drain lines to work.
