Some people call me the creative organizer because two of my passions, organizing and creativity, collided back in 2011 and sparked my dream and to launch HKpowerStudio.

I’ve always been inspired by beautiful and functional spaces. I grew up observing and learning from my mom, a talented interior designer, and my dad, a clever engineer. I was blessed to be surrounded by spaces where form and function were beautifully in balance and I spent many hours in “creative” play which for me meant cleaning, tidying art making and playing house. There were times I choose this over time with my friends, which infuriated them but the results brought me deep satisfaction! After several years of exploring various fields of creative education I eventually pursued design as a Fibers major at Savannah College of Art and Design. When I finally sat at a loom to weave, I felt I’d found home.

I spent nearly 15 years after graduation collaborating with clients to create custom textile designs and manage design projects around the world for both residential and commercial spaces. I’m intrigued by how form, function, design and organization merge and overlap. These are the common threads that have interwoven all my career and creative choices.

My mission is to collaborate with my clients in the process of cultivating Creatively Organized Spaces. What may seem like boundaries to some inspires my curiosity and fires up my passion for creative problem solving. In order to create the space you envision you must first clear out the debris, much like cultivating the ground before planting. The process may differ slightly from client to client but together we will refine and improve your strategies! By listening and collaborating, together we will create your vision!

> Heather is incredibly professional, kind and clear-minded. She helped me organize several spaces in my home that dramatically changed my day-to-day, even in only doing 3 sessions with her. My home art studio was impassable and it was necessary for a large project with a looming deadline. She helped me make order of my chaos and even create a pleasant place to work. There were other problem spots in the house that we tackled where I had just relegated them to disorder and ugliness with no end in sight. I didn't realize how much they bummed me out coming across them in my daily routine. Now they are fresh places to look upon and store things.
>
> One of the biggest benefits of working with Heather is learning how to best dispose of unwanted items. I don't have much issue with letting go of things but my hang up is 'I hate to throw that in the trash'. She made great suggestions on where it could be better used, sometimes in my own home, in the community or best place to dump it. For example, with my old garden products, she offered many of them could just dispel into the yard safely.
>
> I'll further share that after working with her, the clarity stuck with me and I have since been inspired to tackle overwhelming messes of neglectful years on my own. I have learned that a cup of coffee and a fresh mindset can do wonderful things for future happiness in your home. I have Heather and HK Power Studio to thank for that.

> My husband and I just had the smoothest move that we have ever had in our 15 years together because of Heather's organizational powers! We have been using her organizational services in the past 2 years to help us at our house and at our business. It makes such a difference to have someone else's outside perspective and fresh eyes to look at all of your belongings and help you get organized! She was a Life Saver during our recent move to a new house. We set up a meeting around 6 weeks before our move date. She looked at what we had and printed up a to do list for us. Each of us were assigned tasks with suggested completion dates. Once a task was done, we checked it off the list and all the sudden we were moved! She gave us great tips and tricks to keep the operation running smoothly like how to label boxes, having a staging area and when to take the art off the walls! We couldn't help but comment the entire time about how stress-free we felt. I would highly recommend that you use Heather Powers for your organizational health!!

> Heather help my husband and myself clean out and reorganize our bedroom and our "junk" room. I had such anxiety before she came about how it would or "could" happen. It turned out wonderfully well! Better than I ever imagined. She was easy to work with and even took away the items we were getting rid of to the appropriate places (Goodwill or consignment shop). She had on-the-spot solutions for organization and used many things we already had for storing items. I would recommended her to anyone who needs help.

**★★★★★ — Jeni Becker, Nov. 2016**

> Extremely professional, knowledgeable, and super helpful! Heather is definitely an asset to any space you spend time in. From complete review of current and potential items to ideas for proper placement, I would trust any organizing project to her. Worth every single penny!

**★★★★★ — Ally A, Nov. 2016**

> Heather Powers has been a great help to me!
> Heather organized both my home and my lifestyle. I am so thankful for Heather's help. Heather is professional, timely, and truly successful in her work. I very highly recommend Heather's service.

> Heather provides a service that everyone needs, but not everyone knows how to ask for. Organization does not mean compromising your creativity, style, functionality, in fact, it can accentuate those things. Heather taught me skills I needed to apply organization to every facet of my home, not just my studio. In cleaning out and organizing my studio, she did not make me throw things away that were needed, she helped me find a place for everything and gave my space a calm, functional vibe. I had simple homework tasks to do without her, but over three sessions together she helped me get my small space functioning at it's largest capacity.

**Comment from HK Power Studio:**

> It was such a pleasure to work with you on your Studio! I am so happy that you are pleased with the results and you feel you learned skills to maintain your working space!

**★★★★★ — shughes302, March 2016**

> I hired Heather to help me prepare my home to go on the market. After ten years in a 4,000 square foot home, it could be said that I accumulated significant "stuff". Heather helped me go through each room systematically and decide what I wanted to keep and what I needed to remove from my house.
>
> She helped me organize the remaining "stuff". The organizing principles led to a system for storing things in the most appropriate places within my house and in such a way that I could easily retrieve them when desired. Replacing the items after use was easy.
>
> Heather also helped me donate and find great sources that would reuse my possession that I no longer wanted.
>
> I sold my house within two weeks and have already planned to use Heather's talents in my new home once I move.
>
> I used to be organized and then I got sloppy about it. Tackling it alone was too much but Heather made it easy. Easy to do and easy to stick to in the future.

> Heather and I have been working together now for over a year in two different capacities. First, she coached and organized me into a six month drive to relaunch my art career which concluded in a very important show of my work. She is technologically gifted and can look down the road of time to see all the needs, roadblocks, and chances. I could not have done it without her.
> Then she helped me get my entire house organized. This effort has been life changing for me. I now know where everything is and have systems to keep organized. She has been so helpful in not being presumptuous or bossy. She has listened to my needs, so when she does make suggestions they are right on target. It has been worth every penny. I wish I had done all of it long ago.

**★★★★★ — marriagebliss, June 2015**

> Heather Powers is a professional in every way. I have used her services several times in the past and currently on my new home. She listens and understands my needs. I trust her insight and vision. I highly recommend her to my friends and family. I can only say good things about her!!

**★★★★★ — eugenielisa, May 2015**

> I have employed Heather Powers as an organizer for both personal and professional projects. At first, upon moving into the area, she not only helped unpack and organize my new house, she also helped direct me to organizations and associations I would be interested in.
> Since then she has set up filing systems, created detailed and thorough inventories for insurance purposes, and helped me go through an exhaustive amount of materials in order to create a cogent donation to a museum.
> Heather likes to solve "problems." Likes to "fix it." What a relief! And I appreciate Heather's ability to recognize and go to where I am in the process and gently lead me forward...into order.

**★★★★★ — Katie Wells, May 2015**

> Heather transformed my closet and my living room. I inherited a bunch of furniture from my grandmother and I had no idea how to incorporate it into my current furniture (different styles, layout in the room, etc.) Heather came in and completely redesigned the room to a much more functional and attractive layout. She had creative solutions I never would have considered. In addition, she organized my buffet. In addition, her closet re-organization not only allowed me to "see" my clothes better (she color coordinates, puts blouses, pants, etc. together) her system actually stuck! It is almost 2 years later and I still follower her system which has allowed this naturally messy + disorganized user, stick to it. I highly recommend Heather for your organizational needs.

**Comment from HK Power Studio:**

> Thank you so much Katie, I'm so proud you are sticking with your new organizing systems! Way to go!
