Everything about our experience was positive! The crew was friendly, clean with a strong attention to detail. Our project manager was a key partner and when issues cropped up we knew about them quickly, what our alternatives were and timelines were quickly adjusted to accommodate. We used them to repair water damage to a wall from a roof leak. Though the work seemed ok, the billing practices were pathetic with us receiving a final bill almost 3 months after the job was done (having paid $20500 earlier). We questioned the bill for many reasons, most importantly that we doubted they were billing properly so far removed from the project and their recollections were certainly not in line with ours. Our questions were met with resentment from Bob the owner, as if we didn't have the right to even be asking such questions. He gave almost nothing in terms of specifics...hours, materials cost, etc., saying only that he "billed by the job". When I asked to meet with him to discuss this, he commented that he could meet, but all he would do is "reiterate the bill". > On top of this, he emailed, then insisted in person that his men were at our home for 2 weeks or more when we have proof that they were there 4.5 days. When confronted with this his comment was that it did not matter, they billed by the job. > > We paid the bill, but I would NEVER hire this company again and you should not hire them either. They demolished our old deck and built a new custom deck with raised pool, custom planters and a new pergola. Due to bad timing of COVID, we had some delays due to supply chain issues and labor shortages, but we are very pleased with the final product. They were great at communicating progress and expectations. It ended up taking quite a bit longer than expected and budget was increased due to rapid cost in building supplies along the way, but this was all explained (and approved) clearly so there were no surprises. Matt was our project manager and he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Einor is an amazing carpenter who does the work of a perfectionist! We sought to renovate our 75 year old brick bungalow. Classic was recommended to us by two couples with similar accolades: they're on time, stay within agreed upon budget, do quality work, are pleasant to work with. This proved true for us. What we hadn't anticipated was benefit of using a design-build company. Owner Bob Fleming met with us, walked the house, and offered his suggestions. In a few days he presented some very creative options, in writing, which included price ranges for each. By the end of the next week we had a working plan, the projected cost, and a start date in one month. In the weeks prior to start, we meet with Bob as needed and with his guidance chose all tiles, paint colors, vanities, sinks, faucets, lights, kitchen counter top, appliances, flooring, hardware, etc. His experience and taste (and awareness of our budget) reinforced the integrated design of our house as a whole. To do this on our own, or room by room, or as the need presented, would have been daunting. The Classic team assigned to us was excellent (and fun!) and their selected sub-contractors superb. When we altered the original plan for additional work, we negotiated a separate contract for that work. We had no cost surprises, despite challenges they discovered under plaster walls and old tubs and amidst some rather ancient plumbing. We love our "new" house and remain most grateful we learned about Classic before starting a major, renovation project -- and had the opportunity to employ their services and get to know the wonderful people associated with the company.
