> We'd highly recommend working with Cross Country Builders. We are pleased with our new home. The cabinetry and flooring were the most noticeable aesthetic feature, when we first looked at this house. Anyone who visits us always comments on the unique beauty of the kitchen. It is the perfect combination/balance of country chic. Secondly, the quality of workmanship, with regard to the fireplace, was a real eye-catcher. We love the fact that they put thought into important upgrades, which have paid off for us in the long run, such as the double insulation and a highly efficient furnace. Cross Country Builders have been exceptionally accommodating, with regard to our new home warranty. Whenever we have had an issue, they address it immediately until the problem is resolved. They are both friendly and professional, with regard to their business, ensuring their customers are happy with the finished product.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Need more help with teenagers bedroom** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My teenage daughter is looking to remodel her bedroom this summer. We have basically chosen the hemnes day bed from ikea. We are sticking with a neutral palette and have been thinking of putting shelves above her bed and a desk on the other side of her room with a nice mirror. She made a quilt this summer with mint, light grey, navy, gold, silver, and while colors in it. We are thinking to paint the walls a darker grey but aren't set in stone about that.

A: I would choose the wall color from the grey in the quilt, you could even take triangle shape from the quilt as a theme to replicate in the room. Paint the side tables and bed in the "pottery barn" black color. Good how to's on pintrest with chalk paint. Add a bedskirt to keep the look sleek and organized. Good luck on your project.

**Q: Oh help - tile screw up in the kitchen, but maybe it's not bad?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I asked for regular white subway tile back splash, and had a sample of what I wanted, but the builder got mixed up and thought I wanted the oversized subway tile for the backsplash.
He'll pull it out and replace it, but maybe I don't hate it? What do you think?
Both bathrooms have this tile in the showers, so is that weird?

A: I like it. I see the difference you were going for. But I would leave it if it doesn't bother you.

**Q: Help...Knotty pine paneling!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

This is my first home its small the main living room wall is covered in paneling. I tried to take some of it down but it's nailed and glued onto old plaster walls and who know what's hiding under it. Should I paint it dark to blend in tv or will it make room smaller. The room is a light yellow color with dark wood floors. Any ideas plz I hate this wall

A: I would paint a light cream or whitewash it. From your photos it looks like you have a country theme with the panes of glass. That would compliment your flooring nicely.

**Q: Furniture layout...need help!!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Trying to decide where to place furniture in our front living room. I wanted to do two sofas facing each other but if I do that, one sofa will be in front of a bedroom door. There would obviously be room for the door to open, but is it weird or not okay to put furniture in the way of a doorway. I'm including photos. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

A: I would purchase sectional pieces that could be used as a sofa when placed together or as chairs. IKEA has a few pieces that you can do that with, you can even mix colours with covers if you wish. And that way you can move them around and change it up as time continues on. Large ottoman in the centre maybe nice as well and used as spare seating when large amounts of company come over.

**Q: What is the price of 3 seater swing?** *(in Product Questions)*

A: What is the price for a 3 seater? Do you ship to Canada?

**Q: what paint color is that on the wall** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This paint has been discontinued. Sorry
