I have a ton of ideas that I would like to do but wanted to see what other people's opinions were as well since someone else may think of something that I like better. There used to be a huge, beautiful oak tree in the front, but it was taken out by hurricane Matthew so I know I need some landscaping. I adore the craftsman look/details but am not sure trying to put some of those details would look right. A: Metal roof, porch rockers or swing. red dutch front door, barn style garage doors would make this charmer ROCK! **Q: Kitchen Backsplash** *(in Design Dilemma)* I'm installing soapstone counters in the kitchen, I would like to use soapstone as the backsplash extending up to the cabinets. My question, is that too much? The house is 100 years old, slate looking floors and white cabinets. Any advise? A: Sounds great. Love soapstone and when you continue beautiful stone from countertop to backsplash it makes a huge impact. The look is total WOW! Don't be timid. In between beams are already wired, track lights?, pendants? Chandeliers? ... A: Go big or go home. What I mean is that you have a gorgeous ceiling and great picture window, your lighting should highlight these features. Yet, please no track lighting. Here are some faves. Have fun.
