As well I hired them to also complete the excavating, septic system and final grade. The decision to utilize this company was because I was told they did good work and were trusted in the community. Little did I know how important this decision would turn out to be. During the building process that took place in many phases I worked with Mr. Berchiatti who managed this division for the home building company. Approx 1 year after the driveway was finished I began to have popping and cracking of the driveway in many areas. Although the reason for the driveway deteriorating was never really determined the most important point is that Mr. Berchiatti assessed the condition of the driveway and made the decision to make it right. He soon had a crew tear up the very large driveway and replace all the concrete at no cost to me! This could easily have been $10,000 for me to replace the 15 yards of concrete and all the labor involved. > Later, I would come to realize that I wasn't hiring that particular home building company for its reputation but rather the reputation and work of Mr. Berchiatti. He pushed to have the driveway replaced despite resistance from the home building company, for whom he worked for, to absorb the cost. I now see that Mr. Berchiatti has started his own home building company. If and when I decide to build my next home I wouldn't hesitate to hire him and his expertise. He is professional, easy to work with, dependable and most importantly stands behind his work.
