**★★★★★ — Rita Engelhardt, May 2020**

> My husband and I embarked on a total renovation of a 1960s home in late 1998. We wanted a designer involved early in the process. I saw an ad for Eklektik Interiors and was impressed by their style - I called to make an appointment. We were very fortunate that Stephanie was assigned as our designer.
>
> Stephanie was instrumental in assisting us with locating and making selections of designer materials - saving us countless hours. She was very attentive to our ideas and comments. We both love design; therefore this was very important to us. She is great at interpreting an idea and making it happen!
>
> Stephanie proved to be a great mediator between husband and wife, between homeowner and contractor, and at times, between contractor and subs. Her involvement was extremely helpful to my husband and I in keeping the construction ball rolling. Her soft approach to problem-solving is truly a gift.
>
> With our vision and Stephanie’s input and expertise, we truly achieved the “wow” factor and now live in a showcase home. Visitors don’t know what to look at first because we created so many interesting design elements in the house. Stephanie is a real asset to the design industry. We would definitely use her again in future projects.

**Comment from Design Dwell Interiors:**

> Rita and Steven, your home turned out amazing! It was a blast working with you both! Having your trust is what it's all about! Thank you for the beautiful words and I can't wait for our next adventure!

**★★★★★ — Chaundra Edwards, June 2017**

> My husband and I found a place in the perfect location, but it needed some serious updating. And though we'd never worked with a designer before, we knew we needed help on this one. Stephanie was referred to us by our realtor and she helped us transform an ultra-traditional space into a place we will enjoy for years to come. She interviewed us about our style, looked at pictures of our previous home, and made suggestions for updates that not only suit our style but complement the overall design of the house. Then she worked very effectively with our contractor to ensure that the project proceeded on schedule and to her standards.
> I especially appreciate that she was able to incorporate existing pieces into a seamless design that we love. And everyone who sees it seems to love it, too. One kind soul even suggested that it should appear in Architectural Digest.
> Even though the bulk of the work was completed by early December, Stephanie continues to provide advice and support as we tweak a great space into our idea of perfection. Love that designer and recommend her without hesitation!!

**Comment from Design Dwell Interiors:**

> This is why I love what I do! Chaundra and Joe, it was and is such fun working with you both. Thank you for the very kind words, I'm honored to have your trust and to have been part of the team! I can't wait to see the ottomans!!

**★★★★★ — Melissa Pourpak, Feb. 2017**

> My husband and I recently decided that our downstairs living space needed a facelift. This included painting, redoing our fireplace, our built-ins, lighting, and the powder room. We are both busy professionals raising two young daughters, so our time to find and coordinate contractors and plumbers and painters, as well as actually design our space, is limited. Thankfully, I found Stephanie on Houzz and she made the entire process not only easy for us, but everything turned out gorgeous.
>
> When we hired Stephanie, we expected someone who would simply design our space on the computer and then tell us what to buy and what to do. But what we got was so much more than that. From the initial concept through overseeing construction, Stephanie was involved in every aspect of this project. I have no doubt that it would not have turned out as good as it did if not for her watchful eye and high standards.
>
> With regards to the people who worked on our house, Stephanie recommended people that she trusts to get the job done, and everyone who worked on our project was of the absolute highest quality and professional demeanor. The best part was that she coordinated their work and their time for me so I didn't have to.
>
> Stephanie has a way of making you feel like you are the only customer she has, even though she is very busy and in high demand. From unlimited texts and phone calls, visits, and shopping trips, I truly felt like she was 100% invested in my project and I never needed to nag her to get something done. We developed such a good relationship with Stephanie and were so impressed with her work that we decided to hire her to design a playroom for our daughters, which is currently underway (and so far, coming out great!).
>
> I cannot say enough good things about Stephanie. If you are looking for someone who will do a great job for you and exceed all of your expectations, she is definitely the designer to hire.

**Comment from Design Dwell Interiors:**

> This level of appreciation truly leaves me speechless! Melissa and Allan are a joy to work with! We have created some beautiful results and I couldn't be more pleased with the relationship we have formed in the process. Thank you for your kind words and your trust!

**★★★★★ — Milestone Countertops, Sept. 2016**

> Stephanie of Design + Dwell Interiors! Her company name says it all. Most homes in the city do not have a lot of space so Stephanie has the vision of creating a well Design you can Dwell in!
>
> We highly recommend!

**★★★★★ — Greenwood King, July 2016**

> My husband and I used Stephanie for a design consult. The 1.5 hour meeting was well worth the money. We used many of her ideas.

**Comment from Design Dwell Interiors:**

> It was a pleasure meeting you both, thank you for the opportunity of working with you!
> Stephanie

**★★★★★ — HU-454750, June 2016**

> I would highly recommend Stephanie. We needed help with an addition on a 100 year old bungalow. My husband likes mid-century modern and I love vintage cottage. So needless to say, Stephanie had her work cut out for her as it is very hard to blend those styles. I also take a long time to make a decision. Stephanie not only had the design knowledge but also the psychological figured out. She dealt with the contractor issues we were having and it was a relief. She was the calm in the storm and I loved everything she picked out. She pushed me outside of my comfort zone and we could not be more pleased with the result. We have strangers ask us our paint colors and are amazed at the transformation both inside and out. Thanks Stephanie for making our house a home!

**Comment from Design Dwell Interiors:**

> You guys are the best! It was a very fun project and I loved working with you. I think it did turn out amazing and I am thrilled you are happy with everything! Thank you again!

**★★★★★ — Carol Bumstead, May 2015**

> I worked with Stephanie Vaughan on a large remodel project. She worked very closely with all of the contractors and was instrumental in the design, finishes and furniture.
>
> Stephanie is very easy to work with and made the entire design process fun. I had a great time working with her and I would highly recommend Stephanie to anyone who is considering remodeling or redesigning any part of their home. She is always professional, extremely knowledgeable and very talented. She is also an exceptional artist who provides commission pieces to her clients. Stephanie makes every effort to connect with her clients on a personal level, therefore each project is tailor made and she never does the same thing twice. Her unique design perspective is a reflection of her dedication and integrity.

**★★★★★ — kgoodenesshtx, May 2015**

> I have worked with Stephanie for 3+ years. She is highly motivated and a very detailed designer. I have enjoyed working with her on projects such as: Peltier, Bumstead & on several custom home builder jobs.
>
> Her friendly & professional attitude makes working with her a dream. She knows the Houston market very well and is well connected. I would recommend her services to anyone looking for a great new concept that's fresh, unique and dreamy!

**★★★★★ — Barnes Real Estate Services, April 2015**

> Stephanie Vaughan of Inner Loop Design took an outdated and ugly bathroom in my 28 year old house in Sugar Land, Texas and turned it into an elegant retreat. In addition to the fabulous design, her integrity and business practices are exceptional. I will most definitely use Inner Loop Design for all future projects and highly recommend Stephanie and her team of professionals.

They knew it would be their main residence for a while and understood it was going to take a little dust to get it to where it needed to be to fit their lifestyle and taste. The rooms were filled with decorative trim and high ceilings with arches that were not in line with the clean lined contemporary style they originally wanted. ## Community Q&A

**Q: Where did you find the tile with circles? It is a great look!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: That tile is a very fun product with various mosaic, texture and size options from a couple sources here in Houston. My favorite is Thorntree Slate and Stone.

**Q: Help! Should we put an island, a peninsula or nothing?!?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are remodeling a kitchen that currently has a peninsula. Since it is right next to dining area, we don't really need the seating space from the peninsula. I would like to open up the kitchen but I'm afraid it is too small of an area to put an island in.
The width of the kitchen (wall to wall) is 153". When you take away 26" on each side for counter space, and account for at least 36" in clearing space between the counters and the island, the island counter can only be about 29". It can only be one set of cabinets without seating (which is fine) but I'm wondering if it will be weird if it is so thin.
Alternatively, we can just leave the peninsula but I think taking it away will really open up the kitchen and add to the more contemporary look we are going for.

But if I take that away and don't add an island, will there just be way too much space in the middle of the kitchen?
I've had to quotes for the kitchen and the designers told me completely different things, so I'm more confused than ever.

A: This is the perfect scenario for hiring a designer, even for a consultation, to be in your space with you and to give you professional advice and options.

**Q: Bowling alley slab into a Table** *(in Before & After)*

I made this table from a bowling alley slab. It has 1/4 inch steel banding and I beams for legs. I polished the steel with a wire brush and sprayed with a clear satin . The top has a satin varnish.

A: Cool idea!

**Q: What type of material?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What type of material is in the shower on the slant wall/ceiling and wall with shower hardware?

A: The ceiling and side walls are white subway 3x6 from Interceramic Tile

**Q: Shower ceiling height** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you please tell me the lowest and highest ceiling height in the shower?

Thank you

A: Hi There!
Well, I never actually drew out the space because it was pre-existing and I didn't have a need to. I would probably estimate the wall height at the bottom of the right side of the shower is 36" and the highest point on the left approximately 104". The homeowner is around 6' and has plenty of room for movement. Good luck with your project!

**Q: Help choosing a Quartz color for new home!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm having trouble choosing a color for my countertops. I had thought I wanted a white sparkling top but when I saw Whitney jewel it looked cheap to me. The floor matches the cabinet color. The cabinets are maple. I liked Ella and Torquay but I'm unsure. The crown molding is white!
Help!

A: I have recently used the Ella in a custom spec home in Houston and it was gorgeous. Cabinets were painted Sherwin Williams Proper Gray and the walls were Eider white. The Ella was a beautiful contrast with just the right amount of dark veining and it is an excellent product overall.
